Good gracious, I am going to live at the movies this weekend......

"We Own the Night"
Robert Duvall, Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix....enough said. I have been salivating over this movie since I saw the trailer. I am a huge Wahlberg fan and Phoenix is a great actor himself. Duvall....enough said right there.
R for strong violence, drug material, language, some sexual content and brief nudity.

"Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?"
Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Sharon Leal, Jill Scott, Denise Boutte
Ah the question so many men ask. While "Daddy's Little Girls" was a bit of a yawn, I am looking forward to this one.
PG-13 for mature thematic material, sexual references and language.

"Elizabeth: The Golden Age"
Geoffrey Rush, Clive Owen, Cate Blanchett, Abbie Cornish, Jordi Molla
A period peace with Blanchett returning to a role she has played before back in 1998's "Elizabeth." It will look pretty, but how it delivers remains to be seen.
PG-13 for violence, some sexuality and nudity.

"Michael Clayton"
George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton, Sydney Pollack, Pamela Gray
Finally! Victoria will get this movie...Clooney at his best in years.

R for language including some sexual dialogue.

Four potentially great movies. Two I am confident are completely awesome. So get out and get to the movies. And if you see me there, say hello.

Ah true, I guess I am succumbing to the hollywood hype machine I am so against. Hey I think it's impossible to go into a movie without an expectation one way or the other. When I see it, if it sucks, I will say it sucks. Avoiding promos you are missing out on half the fun of the movies. You know the trailers are the best part. Did you see the one for the super secret Abrams movie? Sure I will go into the movie thinking something, but I will either be impressed or P.O.'ed.

I am not in drama club, but will be watching it. My question is, you are saying potentially great movies, showing that you have seen the movie, yet claim this is Clooney at his best? How do you know? Isn't it going in with bias expectations going into the movie going to influence you one way or the other. I have found, avoid promos at all cost, though the buzz still gets out. I just like to try to be as neutral as possible since there seems to usually be so many heavy disappointments. Call it Star Wars Episode I syndrome.

Bj, you might be the only person NOT in drama club at the screening of Elizabeth.
