Election coverage: From pizza to pixels
If it's Election Day, then dinner must be pizza. For newsrooms across the country, pizza is regular fare for all of the troops assembled to cover the news. It's easy, quick and generally liked by everyone. Even though our dinner will be the same, we will be trying some new ways of covering tonight's results. All of our reporters will be stationed at county courthouses across the Crossroads region filing live reports throughout the evening. In addition, multimedia news director Bill Clough will be trying our first live newscast from the Victoria County courthouse. We're a bit nervous about the new technology we're using to make the live broadcast happen, but we encourage you to check it out tonight at Election Central. You'll see the video player on the site now with the message "Not broadcasting." At various intervals after the polls close at 7 p.m., we'll begin the broadcast. We are having a Victory Party tonight for Ron Paul. Now we can just bring a computer instead of trying to get a place with a TV! I love the new advances the paper is making in this area.
