GabeSemenza - > Crowdsourcing -> Victoria's Team: Dallas Cowboys or Houston Texans?
Victoria's Team: Dallas Cowboys or Houston Texans?

This debate could get ugly. As a lifelong Cowboys fan who has lived in about 15 states, I know firsthand that others either love the Cowboys or passionately hate 'em.

But how do Victorians feel?

Coy Slavik, Advocate sports editor, wants to know. He sent an e-mail this morning to me, a Cowboys fan, and to Billy Mau, a Texans supporter and a member of the newspaper's sports department.

"Billy and Gabe: I'd like I'd like you two guys to hash out this debate in the form of a 12-inch story for the football tab."

Billy and I argue regularly about the two teams. Now, it's your turn.

Which team is Victoria's Team?

If you prefer to e-mail or call in your response, reach me at gsemenza@vicad.com or 361-580-6519.

Thanks for your help,

Gabe Semenza/Advocate public service editor.

Cowboys for sure! It's more fun on Sundays when you actually live in Dallas :)

It's been hard to admit since Jethro Bodine bought them, but COWBOYS. No question.

Yeah, Gabe you can quote me. Just choose a fabulous avatar instead of a picture of me. :)

And who doesn't hate the throwback unis? Yuck.

I became a Cowboys fan when I was in the military mostly in self defense due to being stationed with a bunch of Giants, Redskins and Philly fans.  And speaking of ugly unis, I hope they don't wear those stupid throwback unis this season.

I'm with you both, Dejasmom and thewaywardwind. It's funny. When I moved to Texas I thought I'd bypass Cowboys haters. But no matter where you go, Cowboys haters do, too.

I'm going to quote you both for the story if you have no objections.

Thanks,

Gabe

Considering the fact that I'd be permanently barred from my parents' home if I didn't like them, I'm going to vote for the Cowboys. Plus, I have a soft spot for Troy Aikman. :)

I've been a Cowboys fan since Eddie LaBaron was quarterback and they wore the ugly jerseys with stars on the shoulders.  Even when I lived in Houston, I was a Cowboys fan.  The only time I came close to having affection for the Oilers was during Bum Phillips time as head coach during the "Luv ya Blue" days.  By the time they left town, I was one of the ones telling Bud Adams to not let the door hit him where the good Lord split him.  As for as the new Texans...nope -- ain't gonna happen.
