I write a blog! I disappears! Poof! Why?
How is it half the blogs I write disappear? Why is it Terry Owen of the Advocate's online crew never returns phone calls? After I see the confirmation page where does the blog disappear to? Anyone else have this problem or am I being filtered?

Yup! Been there, done that! It disappeared too! In fact, that particular blog post I had to write four times. The first three disappeared under three different sets of circumstances. Worse yet, on the third try the blog program started to disintegrate. I was having trouble puncuating and using colored text. It was like something was hindering my writing. I did a computer diagnostic at two different levels and everything was fine on my end. I finally had to write an email and cut the text and paste it in to the blog. By that time I was spitting nails angry!

Sorry to hear about the trouble with posting blogs.  We will check it out on Monday.  Have you tried the "Save a Draft" button at the bottom of the screen?  That should allow you to save your work and return to it.  I know that's not much consolation now, but until we get this timeout issue figured out, that might help to prevent losing your work.

Undoubtedly there is some part of the program that is timing me out. There are other folks having the same problem. This is frustrating! Every post that has disappeared on me has been a long one. I try to take my time and make sure everything is perfect and the inforamtion I provide is factually correct. That takes time and obviously the blog program is time limited. Perhaps Mr. Cobler can fix that.

Kenneth,

I have had some comments not be posted. Don't know why, I was signed in when I started typing and was still signed in afterwards but the post did not set. I suspect a geekup with the software or server. I usually type the image letters correctly and all. And if they are not correct it will tell me. So I suspect the Advocate side but then it could be my wireless server I guess. Are you on wireless or lucky enough to have cable run out on your side?

Hey Shurl,

That idea about cutting and pasting is a good one! I'll have to remember it for some of my longer writings here and elsewhere.

Kenneth,

One or two possible reasons for your blog posts "disappearing as the following has happened to me:

1.This Advocate program apparently "times out" if you're logged in but aren't "moving around" the site i.e. reading other comments or blogs. This has happened to me when I'm writing a long post for my blog. I click on "post" and the "please sign in window pops up, so I resign in, but my post has "disappeared and I have to write it all over again. or

2. I write my post but I don't correctly fill in the little weird shaped letters in the box, so when I click "OK", again my post disappears. Now, I make it a habit to "copy" my posts before I click "post" or "Ok". That way if I've been timed out or entered the letters incorrectly, I can quickly start over by "pasting" my comment in the mesage box. It's kind of a pain in the butt to do it but it really had me cussing until I figured out what was happening.

 Hope this helps.

You're not being filtered. We haven't heard of anyone else having problems with posting blogs and not seeing them. Clearly, this post worked. What did you do differently? Unfortunately, we can't provide one-on-one technical support to the thousands of readers we have. If we see a common issue, we'll have better luck working on that. Sorry you're having trouble.
