speakupvictoria.com, Hey, I'm still speaking up!
Veritas! Latin for truth! Something you don't want getting in the way of your campaign to stop the Exelon Project!
No, Mr. Figer I am not a spokesman for Exelon. Exelon has not given me a dime or promised me anything! Neither has VEDC.
I have spoken out on behalf of this project, the ethanol plant, the Coleto Creek expansion, the Navigation District upgrades and the four year college because I believe I speak for the vast majority of the average working people in this area who're suffering right now!
We need these jobs and benefits! They will provide a small insulation against a national, state and local economy that's in deep trouble!
No one has promised me anything! You can read the paper through the threadbare blue uniforms I wear. My mother finally broke down today and bought me some socks and underwear! I have zero dollars in the bank and two over-burdened credit cards! I'm on disability from a serious thyroid illness that has left me unable to work in my craft as an electrician. I have a $14,000 surgery upcoming. I get $1076 per month on the 3rd and it's usually gone by the 5th! I'm wearing a pair of shoes I bought at a resale shop two years ago. I have one good suit that I'm going to get married in. My truck needs $1000 worth of work and my teeth need $5000, yet I've spent well over $300 researching, producing, copying and distributing two well-researched reports on this project and Generation III nuclear technology in general. No one asked me to do this, it's just something I do well. I'm doing this because it's the right thing to do! People respect what I have to say because I have a 30 year reputation of doing my homework before I speak!
I answered all the questions on your website, posted them on my blog and you have remained silent! You've had three opportinities to speak up in a public forum and ask questions. You decided to keep quiet! You have decided to sit back and throw rocks from behind the scenes instead of standing up in a crowd and asking your questions! And what ignorant questions your website questions are. I support the project and I could ask better antagonistic questions than you're doing! Argumentum ad ignorantiam! Ms. McMaster has so much more courage than you!
I shall await the publishing of your press conference today with excited anticipation!
Veritas! Veritas! Veritas!

Thinksalot: I appreciate your comment. Please think about this; within 50 to 70 miles of Chicago, Illinois there are 10 nuclear reactors at 5 plants. All of this in virtually the suburbs of Chicago. Yet there has been little loss of economic development. Figer's website asks why other cities aren't lined up to get a nuclear plant. Bay City wanted both the expansion of STNP and the Exelon project! Their County Judge was very upset with the Exelon decision! I've answered all of Figer's questions but he still fails to stand up in a public forum and ask them himself! And that goes for Bill Jones of O'Connor Ranches also!

I'll say this, Kenneth: sometimes you are infuriating, but most often you are illuminating. Whether I agree with you (usually) or disagree (sometimes), I always can be sure that your have been thorough.
