I have a message for the folks at TxDot!
And the Word of the Lord God came to Micah in the days of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Israel and He said, "Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. They covet fields and take them by violence, also houses and seize them. So they oppress a man and his house! A man and his inheritance."

Is this not what TxDot is doing? Despite the overwhelming opposition of the very people who pay your salaries-despite the opposition of the overwhelming majority of the people of the state of Texas, you have decided in your hearts you will do what you see fit! Never mind that it is against the will of the taxpayers of this state!

You have set it in your hearts that you will oppress the people-the landowners of this state at the behest of a corrupt governor and the mindless idea of a sadly mis-led president for creating a North American Union. A union that will further weaken the soverignty of this great nation!

And what does the Lord God say to the prophet Micah about a house that would do such things? "Behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks! Nor shall you walk haughtily for this is an evil time!"

A TxDot official has broken the law and defended that action in a public and haughty manner! In a state and a country where there is supposed to be equal justice under the law TxDot has flaunted that justice and illegally hired lobbyists to help with the birth of TTC-69!

And the Lord God said to His servant Micah, "In that day one shall take up a proverb against you, and lament with a bitter lamentation, saying, 'We are utterly destroyed!' "

The TransTexas Corridor will "utterly destroy" many family farm and agricultural operations in rural Texas and the economic development of small cities and towns! What an example of pride for you people to come down from on high in Austin and defy the will of the people because foreign concessionaires and local lobbyists have spent a lot of money buying the souls of a few powerful politicians! Pride does indeed go before a fall!

And in a vision given to His servant Obadiah the Lord God addressed pride in this manner, "The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; You say in your heart, 'Who will bring me down to the ground?' Though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down sayeth the Lord God!"

The Lord God has said to His servant Amos, "I abhor pride!" You folks come down here in your suits and your Power Point presentations and dane to educate us poor, pitiful country idiots about what's best for us while your superiors sit in Austin and flagrantly break the laws of this state and then defend that action in the media!

Understand this; we are networking all over the state and if we have to go to the ballot box and empty our the Texas legislature we certainly will! There was an old Texas Ranger Louis L'Amour wrote about who said, "There ani't no stoppin' a man who knows he's right and keeps on comin'!" So not only am I right but the Lord God has pronounced a woe on people who do what you do!

You fellers sleep well now, ya hear!

That's what I said to a few hundred people Tuesday night attending the TxDot TransTexas Corridor meeting! I was proud to work with Linda Stall of CorridorWatch.org

I'm worried however! From what I understood these meetings have been going on for 8 nights and they all are received by the public like the plague!

From taking the pulse around the state well over 90% of Texans oppose the TTC yet here are these men in suits from Austin telling us they're going to do it anyway!

I asked Mr. Clark from the Yoakum office of TxDot if he slept well at night and he cheerfully said he did! That's the typical reply of a sociopath!

Ron Paul has drafted legislation to strip any federal funding for this project, I'm curious what Geanie Morrison and Glenn Hegar will do! Will our county commissioner's court pass a resolution opposing these dictators?

Water Research Group will hold a periodic meeting to address two issues concerning our groundwater! We hope to have a guest speaker on the TransTexas Corridor-69. We'll discuss various strategy to defeat this monster and have informational handouts for all!

Mark Krueger will speak on uranium mining in the area and what he has learned about the industry. We'll try, by that time, to have some information on the rumors of leasing in the Mission Valley area. Materials will be available for you to directly affect this issue.

The meeting will be at 7PM on Monday Feb. 25th at the Victoria Electric Coop. We'll have coffee and I promise the meeting will result in some action taken on both issues.

Please tell your friends! The public is urged to attend!

I guess I've been an environmentalist most of my adult life. Blame my father. He taught me you have to put something into the ground(not just seed) to get something back out! You have to put an investment in sweat and organic materials and never to rely on just easy chemical fertilizer.

I dare say there isn't anyone proclaiming to be an environmentalist in 100 miles that has invested more sweat and organic material into a place than myself!

Last year I put two tons of horse manure on our orchard. I've shoveled more than a little cotton hulls. In previous years I've hauled many tons of horse manure from the Horseman's Club Arena into our orchard and our gardening area.

People in Old Victoria recognize me as the fellow who picks up their leaves and grass clippings at the curb. Four or five hundred cubic yards over these past few years. Hundreds and hundreds of bags over the years.

The pecan hulls, fireplace ash and table scraps all went back into the land! Many, many yards of composted matter plowed or tilled under!

Beyond that, every tin and aluminum can gets recycled along with every scrap of recyclable metal! People who know me are aware that I've hauled scrap metal since I was ten years old and have recycled tin, iron, steel, copper, reefer coil, wire, lead, brass and batteries. Over my lifetime literally hundreds of tons!

When Loop 463 was under construction near my house I called Randy Bena at our TxDot office and got permission to cut and cord firewood from trees cut down for the project before they were burned. I even picked up buckets of wood chips to use as kindling for the fireplace.

My point? I'm more of an environmentalist than most environmentalists ever claimed to be and I support the construction of the Exelon Nuclear Plant in Victoria County!

I've spent most of my adult life working construction building chemical, co-generation and power plants! I've worked in good ones and bad ones. Relatively clean ones and some nasty ones and this I know from many years of blue collar experience; power plants are usually the cleanest!

Are there drawbacks to plants of all types? Of course there are! Everywhere man disturbs what's already there to build something there will be a footprint!

However, with a burgeoning population along the Gulf Coast we need electrical power! People want can openers, dishwashers, garage door openers and every other amenity they can buy and that requires power!

I support wind and solar and have for many years. Advances in both solar, wind technology and battery storage of power are happening every day. I know, however, that they will never keep up with power demands of a growing population!

As a plant electrician and electrical inspector, I know that when the last nuclear reactor in the U.S. was commissioned Digital Control Systems(DCS) was only an idea on a print table. Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs) were in their infancy! I worked on a power plant that still used vacuum ray tubes that are sold today as antiques! Serious advances in technology have been made and being the stubborn, pigheaded, loud and sometimes abrasive Mission Valley boy that I am, if I thought this project wouldn't be a plus for Victoria County you all know I'd fight it with my last dollar like I did the Lower Guadalupe Water Supply Project! Don't believe me? Ask my good buddy Bill West of GBRA!

Have I done my homework? Yes! Have I looked at both sides of the issue? Yes! Are the anti-nuke folks all wrong and all wet all the time? No! They have valid concerns and they have a right to be heard too!

As for myself, I've looked at both sides of the issue and I feel a safe nuclear reactor facility can be built and commissioned that will help America, Texas and the Gulf Coast be less reliant on imported oil and gas products. It will certainly help put us at less risk from an oil embargo!

What do YOU, the reader, need to do? Write your congressman and senator and ask why the U.S. isn't recycling used nuclear fuel rods like the French?

What else? Turn your grass clippings and leaves into mulch! Pick up that old, leaky lead-acid battery next to the garage and recycle it! Turn the heat off and cuddle in front of a warm fire! Call someone and have them pick up that old car or refrigerator! They'll do it for free and you'll feel better for it!

I've said my say! No one can claim I don't care about the air I breathe or the ground I walk on!

Ya know how it feels when you've been done a grievous wrong and you're able to face those who did you that wrong and prove yourself? Man, It's great!

I went to one of the two largest home improvement centers and made purchace today and was undercharged by $64. I got home and noticed it and went back and asked for the manager.

I explained what happened and he said, "Wow!" when I handed him the receipt and my credit card. I told him not to say Wow yet, I'm going to heap coal of fire on your head! He looked quizzical and I explained it was a Biblical term.

I told him that when I needed a job in the worst way L***'* wouldn't hire be because of a 33 year old misdemeanor. I told him that Jesus said that those who do not forgive will not be forgiven and that goes for corporations as well as individuals.

In fact L***'* is aware that since my high school aged indiscretion I have served my country in both the National Guard and Army Reserve and have two Honorable Discharges and a Service Citation. They are aware that I have served on my church council and been a civic leader.

Still neither L***'* or H*** D**** will allow me to sell wire nuts and breaker panels to the public despite a sterling work record and numerous letters of recommendation.

There is justice in this world and God allows it in His own time!

I'll still take the high road and shop with them for what I need. Keep piling on the coals!

Those who will not forgive will not be forgiven!

The answer is simple! We've, American schools and public policies have, taught children that life is cheap and that we don't need God in our schools!

That's why children kill children!

You can trace the fall of the American education system back to removing God and prayer from schools!

Worse yet, now they're trying to do it to the military!

They sold this unconstitutional clap-trap by telling people they were getting tough on drunk drivers. I mean who doesn't want to get tough on drunk drivers? Only they didn't stop there. They sold this by promising money to hospitals. Who doesn't want more money for hospitals?

The problem starts with a little studied document called the Constitution. A man gets some traffic tickets. He is fined. He pays his fine.(Usually pretty exorbitant fines.) His insurance goes up and since insurance is mandatory in Texas he has suffered another penalty. Ok, maybe he deserves another penalty to get him to slow down but now the state decides that after he has paid his fine and his "debt to society", the state wants more. No! Read the Constitution. That is expressly forbidden!

The Eighth Amendment to the Constitution says, "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

"...nor excessive fines imposed..." Is it not excessive to fine someone who has already paid his fine? Take a look at the amounts provided for in HB 3588!

This, along with the new tollways and the TransTexas Corridor, was nothing less than a revenue scheme dreamed up by Rick Perry and a few of his corrupt friends. And it's not just Perry, the DPS has been selling your information for years. You say, "Aw, that's just your address and stuff!" Wrong! They will sell your criminal record, whether it's correct or not to anyone who forks over the bucks. Yup, that's right. That felony you were charged with 30 years ago but were never convicted of? Yup, they just sold that to some computer geek in New Jersey who is creating a database to sell to a Background Check Company. It's incorrect but who cares, it makes money. That's the corrupt state we live in folks and Governor Good Hair is just the latest installment in classy scam artists!

Our lazy legislature didn't even read 3588 or consider it's implications before they voted for it! A good scam artist can sell these people anything!

Ok, I have vented! I feel so much better now! I'd feel even better seeing Governor Good Hair in an orange jumpsuit and leg chains chopping weeds on I-10!

I wrote the above in 2005. You need to know that both Armbrister and Morrison voted for HB3588. Morrison follows Armbrister's lead on just about everything. And now she has written an editorial against the Corridor!

Question: I'm a U.S. Citizen and have no Mexican ancestry; may I become a Mexican Citizen?

Answer: No!

Question: What happens if we do what Bubba Redneck suggests and "Round 'em all up and ship 'em all back to Mexico an' close the border?"

Answer: Pushing over 12 million unemployed people back over the border into Mexico and closing the border will lead to instant revolution which then spills back over and makes a bigger mess than we have now!

Question: Is every anglo who supports immigration reform a biggot?

Answer: No!

Question: Is every wetbac* that crosses the border a murdering criminal?

Answer: No!

That ought to rile everyone up a bit!

Yup, 55 pounds gone now! What is that? About a 2nd grader? I've lost a 2nd grader!

I was walking around the kitchen in some hiking shorts doing some sweeping and my shorts fell down! Blew my mind! I'm wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in years! Gee, I'm glad I didn't throw them away!

Tell you a little secret: I'd kill for a pound of M&Ms!

I-69 will be good for Victoria, no doubt but please understand something; there is no such thing as "I-69/TTC" and so such thing as "TTC/I-69" as some local promoters of those terms believe! I-69 is a totally separate project from the TransTexas Corridor! TxDot promotes the confusion so local movers and shakers will support both unwittingly!

Go to CorridorWatch.org and learn the difference between the two, please!
