I've been hauling scrap metal since I was 10 years old. I've recycled more that 200 tons of newspaper, glass, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, radiators, batteries, iron, tin, lead and plastic.
I went to sell a load of junk today and was told I needed a "valid" drivers license to be able to do business! Now I understand the need for an ID considering all the theft of scrap materials nowadays but it's no business of Commercial Metals whether my drivers license is valid or not. Nor is it the business of the girl at HEB when she cashes my paycheck.
Does the name match the picture and the name on the check. That's it! I have news for Commercial Metals Corporation, it's none of their business whether my drivers license has expired.
According to the Constitution I have the right to move about this country freely and do business without showing my papers!
Now don't anyone go out to Commercial Metals and blame the nice ladies who pay the weight tickets! It's not their fault! Don't blame my good friend Lane who runs the place. It's not his fault either!
Look to Austin, the legislature and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Somewhere a few years ago that department of state government was taken over by a bunch of jackbooted Nazi thugs who feel they can do what they want. when they want! This statement excludes DPS patrol officers, my hats off and my thanks for their service!
In 2005 the TDPS sold their entire database of information on Texas citizens and made a cool $58 million doing it! However, in a Wired Magazine article concerning myself they admitted up to 29% of those records were either incorrect or not up to date. That means driving records and criminal records!
29%! Would you hire a construction company to build your home that had a 29% failure rate? Now we're expected to allow these people to dictate whether we can do business? Whether we can walk down the street without our papers?
In 1998 a Hallettsville Reserve Sheriff's deputy stopped my son walking down Main Street with his skateboard! The deputy was driving an ambulance! He wanted to see my son's ID! He told my son that without a Texas Identification Card he could hold him for "48 hours!" Anyone recall the old movies about WWII and the stormtrooper stopping people on the street demanding their papers?
This is supposed to be a free country! We should be able to go about our business on a daily basis without having to show our papers to some very nice, innocent clerk or cashier forced to act on behalf of the state!
Kind of makes me wonder what'll happen when the "Real ID" is implemented?

Water Research Group will hold a meeting at the Victoria County Electric Coop Auditorium on SW Ben Jordan St. at 7PM tonight! The two agenda items will be: Mark Krueger will speak on what he's learned about uranium mining and Kenneth Schustereit will discuss opposition options concerning the TransTexas Corridor. Water Research Group was the first in Victoria to oppose the TTC-69. The public is urged to attend. Materials will be available so the public can take a personal hand in defeating TTC-69! When GBRA, SARA and SAWS were going to pump our ground and river water off to San Antonio to green up their golf courses Ron Paul stood tall and opposed the Lower Guadalupe Water Supply Project! And what did he get for it? A quick knife in the back from the Advocate editorial board! Did anyone ever stop to think what would have happened if Ron Paul had remained silent? If Water Research Group hadn't kept the project in the spotlight of public opinion? There would be no prospect for a nuclear plant for Victoria County! We probably wouldn't be seeing the construction of an ethanol plant! Where was Chris Peden during all of this? A teacher entering an NEA Convention sports a button exclaiming, "Jesus was my co-pilot but he crashed the plane so I ate him!" Another button says, "My Karma beats your Dogma!" A grammer school reconfigures restrooms to make a trans-gender child feel better! The terms "Mom and Dad" have been removed from some textbooks so as not to make homosexual children feel out of place! Math problem in a proposed text book: If math were a fruit what fruit would it be? Or: If math were a color what color would it be? I could fill a front page with little snippits like these. I always try to take up for the teaching profession but things look worse every day! Stuff like this makes the whole profession look bad! My sister had to go in for a class and not only wasn't paid but had to pay a $10 fee! She has to pay for her class supplies while Governor Good Hair spends state funds on friends like a drunken sailor! "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea." Isaiah 11:11
At this very moment the Lord God is gathering a remnant of His children from around the world. Jews from every country in the world are making aliah, the homecoming to Israel. Sadly, the prophet Ezekiel prophesies in chapters 38 and 39 of that book that when Israel needs it's allies the most, in the darkest hour they will abandon her.
It's hard to imagine the United States turning it's back on Israel but it shall happen just as the prophet says! At the coming of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, He will judge the nations of the world on how they treated His children Israel!
As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord God and honor the House of Israel. Let my right arm fall numb if I forget Jerusalem and my tongue cleave to my palate should I abandon Israel. This aim, this oath, this mitzvah, should be in the heart of every Christian! For Christians, Israel gave us the Bread of Life out of tiny Bethlehem, Biet la hem in Hebrew, the house of bread.
As I was standing out in the north breeze at the TxDot meeting handing out opposition material to the TTC-69 I saw Ron Reyna go in! He had on his election button and a friend asked me who that was. I told him that was Ron Reyna, a supporter of Water Research Group. He made many meetings and supported the effort to stop the export of our water to San Antonio! When my computer broke ha donated needed parts so we could keep up the fight against the Lower Guadalupe Water Supply Project. Without people like Ron, GBRA would have turned the first shovel of dirt on that project last September and by the end of next year San Antonio golf courses would be watered by our drinking water! He's a doer, not just a talker! That's who Ron Reyna is! |
