Why I think Barack Obama will win in November No longer McCain's party That was yesterday's qualifications Grand Slam "No way,no how,no John McCain" The Hillary Factor and why Excellent Choice Nuance v Steadfast Start the real campaign Glad to be back October 07 November 07 December 07 January 08 February 08 March 08 April 08 May 08 June 08 July 08 August 08 September 08 John Edwards & Barack Obama went straight for the jugular in going after Hillary. They attacked the vote on calling the Iranian Revolutionary Council a terrorist organization. Saying it will give this president the excuse he needs to go to war with Iran. Hillary’s inconsistent answers were exposed on social security and at the end of the debate she agreed with New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's controversial plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants but then a minute later started backtracking. Now Bill Clinton was a master at being evasive but her facial expressions and demeanor showed she is no Bill Clinton. Will this debate change the numbers? I don’t know. I think what was really exposed last night was status quo positions of the front runner. How can my party complain about the secrecy in the Bush Administration if Hillary does not turn over all her documents? I understand it gives the other candidates an unfair advantage, because she will be the only candidate required to do this. But if this lack of transparency is going to stop, someone has to take the lead. The other is lobbyist money; Hillary has out raised all the candidates of both parties in lobbyist money from Wall Street, defense department, and insurance and drug companies. Some might see it as success but really it business as usual. Somehow we must have a leader to take us to public financing because these lobbyist have too much influence. I am getting suspicious as to why the Bush Administration is getting their way on the latest NSA spying bill. Did the telecommunication lobbyist have something to do with it? I don’t know. This may sound like a slam on Hillary but it really isn’t, it just exposes some of her weakness in a primary. Great leaders learn form mistakes and they don’t usually repeat them. Constructive criticism will only make a person stronger.

This Democrat's take on last nights GOP debate
The debate had it’s usual start Rudy v Mitt, but IMO Rudy lost the battle on the subject of illegal immigration by continuing to use his scripted line “Mitt has a sanctuary mansion”(referencing the illegal immigration that worked on Mitt’s lawn) and, the audience let him have it with a loud chorus of boos. Mike Huckabee wooed the audience with his charm and folksy manner but the only hard question he had was on the death penalty and “What would Jesus do” to him this was easy as he said “Jesus would be smart enough to stay out of politics”(sic). I think John McCain won the debate by standing strong on his convictions. I like it when he goes into his “straight talk” mode, sounds authentic. John hit Romney pretty hard for not knowing that “water boarding” is indeed torture. Romney said he had to consult with consultant Coffer Black (that’s the man that would bring Bin Laden’s head back to the USA packed in ice and once promised to put the heads of terrorist on sticks)Mr. Black works for Blackwater. Romney did not want to answer the water boarding because it was some kind of security secret. What a lame excuse. Mitt Romney lost the debate in my opinion because he had that “deer in the headlights” look when asked about water boarding and repealing the “Don’t ask don’t tell policy”. Rudy Giuliani forgot he was at primary debate, because he insured the base that he would not sign a bill banning abortion, waffled on the 2nd amendment, and, and he said he did not take the bible literally. He does hold the lead in My man Ron Paul was booed for his anti-Iraq war stance, but he got a chance to tell the people he got the most money from the military. He used that line when John McCain attacked Ron Paul for his stance on This is how Duncan Hunter answered the ( Rep. Duncan Hunter of “The reason for that, even though people point to the Israelis and point to the Brits and point to other people as having homosexuals serve, is that most Americans, most kids who leave that breakfast table and go out and serve in the military and make that corporate decision with their family, most of them are conservatives,” Hunter said. “They have conservative values, and they have Judeo-Christian values. To force those people to work in a small tight unit with somebody who is openly homosexual goes against what they believe to be their principles, and it is their principles, is I think a disservice to them. I agree with Colin Powell that it would be bad for unit cohesion.” http://weblogs.baltimoresun... I guess liberals and Non-Christians never serve in the military. Tom Tancredo same old illegal immigration rhetoric but he did tell the crown form 2 comments from 2 users

Hi texson1986 Thank you very much. I thought the Hitler reference by McCain was over the top and he got his share of hisses for it but I am surprised the national media didn’t pick up on that. I agree his questions were about the NAFTA conspiracy hi-way ,and about a probable Independent run. I forgot the other question. I was hoping Ron Paul would get to answer the line item veto argument Rudy and McCain were arguing about. Ron would have shamed both of them. I haven't heard about the blimp.....but Ron sure did rub that $4.3 miilion in one day under their noses.....lol posted by

I think you did an excellent job of summing up the debate mike! Ron Paul only got three direct questions. It is obvious they were all chosen more to put him on the spot than to elicit policy positions. Keeping that in mind I am very proud of how he answered then, and stood his ground. I guess you heard we are in the process of getting a Blimp. lol
