Barack Obama's new rescue plan Don't panic....Yet 'Obama has waged the waged the dirtiest campaign in American history. "That one" Ask Obama & McCain these questions tonight Ther're Back: Ayers,Wright, and Rezko The House needs to step up to the plate. Where are the leaders? Time out? It's about time October 07 November 07 December 07 January 08 February 08 March 08 April 08 May 08 June 08 July 08 August 08 September 08 October 08 John Edwards & Barack Obama went straight for the jugular in going after Hillary. They attacked the vote on calling the Iranian Revolutionary Council a terrorist organization. Saying it will give this president the excuse he needs to go to war with Iran. Hillary’s inconsistent answers were exposed on social security and at the end of the debate she agreed with New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's controversial plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants but then a minute later started backtracking. Now Bill Clinton was a master at being evasive but her facial expressions and demeanor showed she is no Bill Clinton. Will this debate change the numbers? I don’t know. I think what was really exposed last night was status quo positions of the front runner. How can my party complain about the secrecy in the Bush Administration if Hillary does not turn over all her documents? I understand it gives the other candidates an unfair advantage, because she will be the only candidate required to do this. But if this lack of transparency is going to stop, someone has to take the lead. The other is lobbyist money; Hillary has out raised all the candidates of both parties in lobbyist money from Wall Street, defense department, and insurance and drug companies. Some might see it as success but really it business as usual. Somehow we must have a leader to take us to public financing because these lobbyist have too much influence. I am getting suspicious as to why the Bush Administration is getting their way on the latest NSA spying bill. Did the telecommunication lobbyist have something to do with it? I don’t know. This may sound like a slam on Hillary but it really isn’t, it just exposes some of her weakness in a primary. Great leaders learn form mistakes and they don’t usually repeat them. Constructive criticism will only make a person stronger.

The Republicans play nice
The Republican debate last night seemed like a social club, singing to the tune of “let’s cut taxes”. The only variation was McCain wanted to cut spending and Ron Paul wanted to eliminate everything except the I thought Rudy Giuliani seemed timid and was not willing to engage. Rudy may just have 9/11 himself out of this contest. Tim Russert asked this one important question of all the candidates was it a good idea to go to war in A lot of people think that cutting taxes puts more money into the pockets of ordinary citizens. This is only true if tax cuts are structured toward the middle class. Newt Gingrich once said “We should let Medicare wither on the vine.” Ever since the era FDR, the Republican’s goal is to keep reducing taxes, to force the government to eliminate the entitlements of FDR namely Social Security. If you watched the debate last night. you heard a lot of cutting corporate taxes, and only Mike Huckabee talked about at taxe cuts for the middle-class. Mike Huckabee hurts his case when he proposes the Fair Tax, which is unfair to the working poor.Conventional wisdom: Huckabee and Rudy support John McCain when they drop out ,making outside Washington Romney against beltway McCain. Many Republicans such as, David Frum and Newt Gingrich are trying to change the GOP of old. The working middle class is not asking anyone to feel their their pain anymore, they want the pain to go away. The corporations of the past would come back and tell their workers “we’ve added a 401(k) to our pension plan and we will match your savings up to 6%” today the same corporations come back and say “We have eliminated your pension plan and increased the portion that you have to pay in your health benefits.” Then they read due to layoffs and benefit cuts their CEO got a hefty 20 million dollar raise. The corporations of today are not our father’s companies, they will take all the tax cuts and continue to shelter their profits in offshore accounts . Tim Russert brought out a charge against Rudy Giuliani and the same could be said of Mitt Romney. If those candidates are running on a “English only” platform, why are so many of their ads in Spanish? Are they saying it’s okay if it’s to pander to the Spanish-speaking Cubans in Tax Cuts down to zero, while calling for increase in military spending and adding weather castrophy insurance for coastline taxpayers; is like saying lets cut the Democrat programs and replace them with ours. No wonder the taxpayers are tired of both parties. 3 comments from 3 users

Yes, he did make an innuendo about being fearful of Bill Clinton being left alone in the WH with nothing to do. He quickly backed down when Russert asked him to explain. He is a model canned candidate. he is so rehearsed. I remember him saying he would have to consult with someone before he knew if water boarding was torture. McCain jumping up and down said"I am telling you it is." A classic. Mitt Romney made his business reputation by DOWNSIZING......" would you rather vote for,the man who is like the one you work with,or the man you work for."(sic) Mike Huckabee posted by

I thought they were going to break out into "We Are the World." Mitt Romney made comments about Bill Clinton that were frankly--way out of line. I can only hope he doesn't get anywhere near Washington. I either read or heard the other day, that all of the other Republican Candidates just hate Romney. A pretty boy who has had every thing handed to him. Wow, that sounds familiar. If Romney is so gung ho on the war--why aren't at least one of his 5 boys in the military. Let some one else sacrifice and do the heavy lifting. Ain't it the way.
