A constant battle..Does it have to be? What are we afraid of? Not that important? Finally Bill O'Reilly v Scott McClellan A little late, Scott McClellan Chuck Hagel for VP it's the message/messenger Just the facts Kevin James This election is not about ideology October 07 November 07 December 07 January 08 February 08 March 08 April 08 May 08 June 08 July 08 John Edwards & Barack Obama went straight for the jugular in going after Hillary. They attacked the vote on calling the Iranian Revolutionary Council a terrorist organization. Saying it will give this president the excuse he needs to go to war with Iran. Hillary’s inconsistent answers were exposed on social security and at the end of the debate she agreed with New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's controversial plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants but then a minute later started backtracking. Now Bill Clinton was a master at being evasive but her facial expressions and demeanor showed she is no Bill Clinton. Will this debate change the numbers? I don’t know. I think what was really exposed last night was status quo positions of the front runner. How can my party complain about the secrecy in the Bush Administration if Hillary does not turn over all her documents? I understand it gives the other candidates an unfair advantage, because she will be the only candidate required to do this. But if this lack of transparency is going to stop, someone has to take the lead. The other is lobbyist money; Hillary has out raised all the candidates of both parties in lobbyist money from Wall Street, defense department, and insurance and drug companies. Some might see it as success but really it business as usual. Somehow we must have a leader to take us to public financing because these lobbyist have too much influence. I am getting suspicious as to why the Bush Administration is getting their way on the latest NSA spying bill. Did the telecommunication lobbyist have something to do with it? I don’t know. This may sound like a slam on Hillary but it really isn’t, it just exposes some of her weakness in a primary. Great leaders learn form mistakes and they don’t usually repeat them. Constructive criticism will only make a person stronger.

Oh,when we practice to decieve
I finally watched the four-part Bill O'Reilly- Hillary Clinton face-offs, because for the most part the so-called left wing media gave it good reviews. I was disappointed because it was the same old thing, O’Reilly boasting that as a millionaire his taxes would be raised and his insistence that torture works. Hillary was Hillary, saying what she wanted and how she wanted., The pundits seem to think that she made some inroads with some right wingers ,because by appearing on O’Reilly showed she had guts. This is the same crowd that likes the toughness of Bill O'Reilly and George W. Bush. Competence is not high on their list. Say what you mean, and say it often. Just keep it simple Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace was a little more interesting. Howard Dean was his guest and I'm sure Chris did not get the results he wanted. Chris Wallace started the interview by asking Howard Dean, why the Democrats were distorting John McCain's 100 years in The rest of Fox News Sunday was an attempt to toot their own horn without all the facts. Chris Wallace, Brit Hume, Bill Kristol and Juan Williams tried to make it appear that the Democrats are clamoring to go on Fox news because it’s number one. First the Democrats did not debate on Fox, yet they increased their numbers of new Democrats. Over 27 million primary voters have voted for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama far outnumbering the GOP's voters. The Democratic primary is at its tail end, so it is now convenient for the Democrats to get the free airtime and possibly get more votes by going on Fox... A gain for both parties because Fox News Sundays trails the other Sunday talk shows in ratings. Of course, Chris Wallace failed to tell its audience about this spitting contest with MoveOn.Org (527) and the Daily Kos (blog), because the latter convinced the Democratic candidates not to debate on Fox? This was a big embarrassment for Fox and they are seeking their revenge. The boycott has ended. The same can be said for Bill O'Reilly because he is now making a personal; going after the CEO of GE for its ties with Some posters think I am plugging MSNBC, because I reference a quote or two from that network. Not so, when I first started posting the editor would always ask us to cite our references, so we would not appear to be plagiarizing and it would give the readers a source to see the full context. I continue to do that ,because I’ve been using this Ronald Reagan quote for a long time "Trust but verify" 3 comments from 2 users

Not hard at all. Just have to go to a reputable site of a company that does non political motivated ratings like Nielsen Media Research. You don't get ratings from Fox, MSNBC, dailykos, mediamatters, moveon, and such. posted by

Hello Sanwichh You went to a lot of trouble showing the Nielsen ratings, but the primaries are in the last stages. I was never comparing MSNBC ratings to Fox's ratings, but it does not matter to me. MSNBC is about 90% politics so when I get home to watch TV, I know they will be talking about politics. Now politics only appeal to small segment of the population. Because of this 15 month standoff between Hillary and Obama the networks are covering more. What you seem to discount ,Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did well without one single network(Fox), because if you take the ratings of CNN ,MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNBC, Ellen, Larry King,Tara Banks, the View, Today Show and Oprah the candidates got plenty of coverage without having to rely on Fox. Your rating show head-to-head, but not necessarily cumulative results of the viewing audience. The candidates were not hurting for votes because the Democrats have had record turnouts, a lot more than their Republican counterparts who have been helped out by Fox. I think you are just trying to sell Fox….. You seem to forget this is a Democratic primary, so the viewers of Fox are not going to help that much. Fox is a corporation, and they know this is supposed to be a Democratic year with large gains in the House and Senate, so having a Democratic boycott is not in their best interest, especially if a Democrat wins the White House. Always two ways of looking at it. MSNBC is 19th in what category and what are the demographics. See Hillary and Obama appeared on that network for the audience (Dems)they were appealing to.If you look at the trends MSNBC is trending up and FOX is flat and it is because of the guest and the candidates. As for news it's 5:30 slot ,free TV always beats cable because not everyone has cable, I have seen all the stats before, but my blog was not about ratings mainly the background for the spitting contest. Anyway in closing this is what I was talking about. Fox News ratings struggling to keep up posted by

For the month of April. Fox has 9 of the top 10 for April,..mmm MSNBC starts at, well, 19th. That's probably why Hillary and Obama went on FOX, they wanted to talk to the majority of the people.
