Starting the back side, both Ryan Vermeer and Jason Bates birdied the par-4 10th.

But back-to-back birdies by Bates  at 11 and 12 has pulled him to within a shot of Vermeer. Vermeer is currently at 14-under, while Bates is at 13 under.

Hole 10, 414 yards, par 4

Bates in in middle of fairway and Vermeer just off fairway in rigth rough. Both hit second shots within 12 feet and 2 putt.

Hole 11, 358-yard, par 4

Bates is again in middle of fairway and Bates is on the right side. Bates hits approach to within 15 feet and Bates hits his at the pin where it bounces once, goes in the hole and back out for a short tap in birdie.

Vermeer also makes his putt for birdie to stay two in front.

Hole 12, 141 yard, par 3

Bates again attacks the pin at the par 3 and hits it to within 3 feet and makes putt, while Vermeer misses his 15 footer to the right. Bates pulls to within one shot.

Hole 13, 500 yards, par 5

Birdie-Birdie

Both players make birie as Bates hits it from the green side bunker to within 3 feet and Vermeer two putts from 50 feet.

Vermeer -15, Bates -14

Sonnier remains in third at -6 through 12 holes

Hole 14, 380 yards, par 4

All tied with four to play

Vermeer finds the right-side fairway bunker of the tee and Bates uses a sand save to regain a share of the lead.

Bates's second shot from the greenside bunker on the right but he blasted out nearly holeing the shot and leaving a tap in par.

Vermeer only managed to advance his bunker shot a short distance up the fairway and left his approach about 6 feet past the pin. He then missed the putt coming back and had to settle for bogey.

Vermeer -14, Bates -14

Bates takes the lead

Hole 15, 158 yard, par 3

After missing a couple of 4-foot birdie putts on two par 3s on the front nine, Bates finds his stroke at the par-3 15 draining a 35-footer for birdie and a one shot lead over Vermeer.

Vermeer watches his 45-footer curl just short before Bates nailed his putt.

Bates -15, Vermeeer -14

Hole 16, 445 yards, par 4

Vermeer misses a chance to get back a share of the lead after missing his 6-foot birdie putt left.

Both were in the middle of the fairway off the tee and Bates hits his approach just left of the green at pin high. Vermeer followed with his approach about 6-feet short of the front left pin location.  Bates chipped up and made his 1 1/2 foot tap in, but Vermeer left his birdie putt out of the left edge of the cup.

Hole 17, 421 yards, par 4

Bates leads going to 18

With a pair of pars at the 17th, Bates and Vermeer head to the closing hole a shot apart. Bates leads at 15 under, while Vermeer is at 14 under

Going to a playoff

Vermeer sinks a 4-foot birdie putt at the par-5 18th to send the tournament into sudden death after Bates' 15-foot putt stays on the lip.

Vermeer wins in sudden death.

Ryan Vermeer birdie the par-5 No. 1 first playoff hole to capture the Adams Pro Golf tour's Invista/Detar Victoria Open over Ryan Bates.
