Philadelphia Punishes the Boy Scouts

In a report on OneNewsNow.com, Chad Groening of the American Family Association writes that:

>"A pro-family activist devoted to countering the homosexual agenda says the United States has clearly reached the depths of depravity when a major U.S. city can decide to financially punish the Boy Scouts of America because they refuse to allow homosexuals into their group.

"The Cradle of Liberty Council of the Boy Scouts of America, which serves about 64,000 scouts in Philadelphia and its suburbs, has been paying $1 a year rent for its downtown office. But recently the city decided that the Scouts must pay the fair market rent of $200,000 a year to remain in that city-owned location because the group "discriminates" against homosexuals.

"Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, says, "Clearly they have no problem discriminating against this wholesome program even as they pander to homosexual activists. I think it's a sad day for America when cities court homosexual activists promoting deviant sexuality, while they punish wholesome groups like the Boy Scouts."<

Meanwhile the Cradle of Liberty Council says it will ask the city solicitor for details on the appraisals that yielded the $200,000 figure. A spokesman said the higher rent money would have to come from programs, like the creation of 30 new Cub Scout packs or the ability to send 800 needy kids to a summer camp.

In 2000, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Scouts have a First Amendment right to bar homosexuals from membership."

Is it just me, or would the average parent think that it would be a bad idea if their Boy Scout son went on camping trips with a homosexual Boy Scout leader?  Frankly, I don't care if a person is a homosexual/lesbian as long as he/she doesn't TRY TO MAKE the rest of the world accept his/her lifestyle as normal.   A Boy Scout leader is supposed to be a role model for the Scouts in his Troop.  Sorry folks, but a person who engages in deviant sexual behavior is NOT a proper role model for young boys.

 Before the Politcally Correct folks get their knickers in a knot, screaming that just because a  man is gay, doesn't make him a pedophile who lusts for little boys, let me point out that "gay" community and the stylish liberals not only do not denounce NAMBLA, they openly support the organization.  They let NAMBLA advertise in their publications and march in their parades protesting discrimination or celebrating the "gay life style."  For those of you not familiar with the acronym NAMBLA, it stands or the North American Man/Boy Love Association.

Acording to the Associated Press, "The ACLU also will act as a surrogate for NAMBLA, allowing its members to defend themselves when being sued in court while remaining anonymous by  parents of young boys who have been molested by NAMBLA members ( emphesis mine) .According to the Globe, NAMBLA officials in the past have said their main goal is the abolition of age-of-consent laws that classify sex with children as rape."

From it's homepage, NAMBLA states:

NAMBLA's goal is to end the extreme oppression of men and boys in mutually consensual relationships by:

  • building understanding and support for such relationships;
  • educating the general public on the benevolent nature of man/boy love;
  • cooperating with lesbian, gay, feminist, and other liberation movements;
  • supporting the liberation of persons of all ages from sexual prejudice and oppression.
  • Our membership is open to everyone sympathetic to man/boy love and personal freedom.

    NAMBLA calls for the empowerment of youth in all areas, not just the sexual. We support greater economic, political and social opportunities for young people and denounce the rampant ageism that segregates and isolates them in fear and mistrust. We believe sexual feelings are a positive life force. We support the rights of youth as well as adults to choose the partners with whom they wish to share and enjoy their bodies.

    We condemn sexual abuse and all forms of coercion. Freely-chosen relationships differ from unwanted sex. Present laws, which focus only on the age of the participants, ignore the quality of their relationships. We know that differences in age do not preclude mutual, loving interaction between persons. NAMBLA is strongly opposed to age-of-consent laws and all other restrictions which deny men and boys the full enjoyment of their bodies and control over their own lives. (emphesis mine)

    Hello Shurelee,

    Thanks for bringing up this topic. It's a shame that the Boy Scouts are punished for PROTECTING the boys.  Brings back bad memories, but we had a troop leader in our area that took the boy scouts out and did molest a few of them until ONE turned him in. How many years it was going on we do not know. It went to court, and the man went to jail.

    People need to wake up and realize that our culture needs to be protected.

    Shurlee,

    I'm not aware of anyone removing the photo.  It is our policy not to edit a post from it's original form, so either your post would remain un-edited, or it would have been pulled completely.

    In this case, I suspect the problem is actually the file type.  The filename of your photo ends in a ".tif" extension, which indicates that this was a TIFF format file.  The only formats we can currently accept are JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) or PNG (.png).  Note that changing the name of the file won't help.  You would actually need to convert the file to one of the two Web image standards (JPEG or PNG) prior to uploading it.  We'll try to make that clearer in the system.

    Dan
