Did he get any sleep or not?

I was listening to the radio this past week, and a song came on with some pretty interesting lyrics:

"I can't not get no sleep..."

To this I say, "Yeah, right" (a double positive).

OK. Wow! These lyrics create a classic sentence for negatives. My question is, "Does he really not get sleep, or is he playing with words here?

By the way, I didn't get the name of the song (wish I had).

I don't get it. Got it. Good.

Hi Shawn -- I agree. He's got to be showing off. It's either that or he's been away for a while: a long, long, long time.

A double negative is one thing, but a triple negative? That's just showing off.
