BREAKING NEWS: TTC and I-69 Are Figments Of Your Imagination. Do NOT panic, people!

There are people in the Unites States (with internet access, even) who think that NAFTA, TTC, 1-69, and a Super Highway are conspiracy theories.

No – really.

At a debate last year, CNN commentators actually smeared Ron Paul for believing in such conspiracy theories.

Again, I kid you not.

Jeffrey Toobin, a CNN legal analyst, says that Ron Paul is “still on national TV talking about some trans-international highway that some secret forces are planning that is a figment of his imagination,” and that “people need to address the facts of what they say.”

I say: Shame on you, Mr. Toobin and welcome to Never-Never Land.

I think you need to address the facts of what you say.

Evidently, Ron Paul’s imagination is so strong that these "figments" are having meetings all over Texas now about this highway - trying to sell us on them. There is one on Jan 29th here at our Community Center.

This figment of Ron Paul’s imagination also has a PUBLIC website, http://www.i69texas.org/ with a nifty little “American” logo.

That doesn't seem like the work of some "Let's join our countries together" super highway to you, does it?

Nah...

As stated in this article, the TTC is described as “the largest government grab of private property in the state's history and an unneeded and improper expansion of toll roads.”

“The TTC would crisscross the state -- for the most part roughly paralleling existing interstate highways -- with up to quarter-mile-wide ribbons of separate highways for cars and trucks, rail lines, pipelines and utility lines. The cost of the project has been estimated at approaching $200 billion, and it could take as long as 50 years to complete.”

Meaning, your grandkids will be dealing with this mess too.

The article goes on to say, “The first phase of the TTC, envisioned as part of a superhighway stretching from Oklahoma to Mexico, was planned by the Cintra Zachry consortium. It's composed of Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte SA of Spain, one of the world's largest developers of toll roads, and Zachry Construction Co. of San Antonio.

Its legal representative is the firm of Bracewell & Giuliani, the home firm of GOP presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who counts Perry among his supporters.

No, that doesn’t sound odd at all. Someone who is running for PRESIDENT of our COUNTRY is involved with this imaginative “super highway.”

Towards the end of the article, it is stated that “some 580,000 acres will be needed for the project, primarily in rural areas that will take ‘some of the best farmland in the state’ (according to Texas Farm Bureau spokesman Gene Hall).”

People - you are on the LOSING END here.

PLEASE attend the meetings and protest this. HAVE YOUR SAY.

There are farms and homes at stake here. People's livelihoods and their history are being TAKEN. The government can do this - and will...

There are so many cons about this... and you will never know about it unless you wake up.

Is this what you want? What you really want?

The video below is proof that Ron Paul is being accused of making this whole “scheme” up.

Still think Ron Paul has no clue what Washington is trying to do to us? He wants a better tomorrow for all of us.

He stays on top of this stuff and wants these people to be accountable for what they are doing to this country!

Be heard!

This NAFTA deal is crap!  We already have a huge illegal immigration problem.  Why in the world would we spend $200 billion to build a "super-highway" and make it easier to enter America?  I am shocked our government is going to take land from people.  What a total mess!  Now, I'm finding out the construction could take 50 years.  There  is no way I am willing to leave this for my children and grandchildren to deal with...

ToniAnne: You are AWESOME! TxDot does not, I repeat NOT hold meetings! They hold presentations in which you enter whatever auditorium they're at and you're met by a TxDot person and ushered through a series of stations.

Since the first TTC meeting in La Grange when Ric Williamson nearly got lynched they never allow a crowd to congeal or gather.

The first TxDot presentation in Victoria I attended they knew me by sight and five TxDot personel surrounded me at the door and started peppering me with questions and denying some of the things I'd said in the paper.

I literally had to walk into a couple of them in order to get into the room. I'm a big fellow and believe me they parted for me. It was fun! One presenter was telling lies on one side of the room that conflicted with the lies another was telling on the other side! I pointed that fact out in my very loud deep voice. IT WAS FUN!

Our whole family is against this super highway.  It is going to take every piece of land and farm my family has owned for 100 years.  Including every house that we own, which is six houses with six full families spread out over ten miles.  Everyone needs to attend all of these meetings including everyone who is not in the direct pathway.  Enough said.

OOOOH I have seen the plans and its going to take out lots of land and new home divisions. I strongly am against this "SUPER HWY" I am willing to do whatever it takes to voice my opinion. I will be there and I will see if my parents can attend because they are .2 miles away from this "SUPER HWY".
