Republican Convention Training TONIGHT in Victoria - SREC Candidates Invited
"BE IT RESOLVED, That the Republican Party is the party of the open door. Ours is the party of liberty, the party of equality of opportunity for all and favoritism for none." - The Rules Of The Republican Party The Texas Republican Party is in a state of disarray. We, the party’s foundation, need to take a stand for what is right. We must force the leadership to follow the rules established each biennial by you: the Convention Delegates. Many of us have not attended a state Republican convention recently or even at all. What will be the agenda? What parts do we, the delegates, play in the overall scheme of the party’s operation? How will this year’s convention be different?
These questions and many others will be answered at the first Victoria County Republican State Convention Training. This free event will be held at the American Legion Hall at 1402 E. Santa Rosa St. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 7pm. ALL State Convention Delegates are invited to attend this function.
We have invited the SREC candidates so that we might have the opportunity to get to know them before the Convention and we also extend the invitation to all Victoria County Delegates and Alternates to attend this function.
Please read the letter below, written by a grassroots activist from Austin, which clearly illustrates the state of our party and what must be done to save it.
Texas is the Reddest State in the United States of America. The percentage of voters who not only vote Republican, but self-identify as Republican is the highest in Texas. We take pride in the fact that Family Values, Economic Freedom, and Religious Freedom reign supreme in our State.
The Republican Party of Texas Platform is perhaps one of the finest declarations of intent and values ever created. The men and women who contributed to this document poured their hearts and beliefs into this directive to Republican Officials. Individuals who identify themselves as the Grassroots Republicans composed the majority of the contributors to the Platform.
Unfortunately, in recent years, the organization that represents the Grassroots, the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) has seen their hands tied by the influence of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Chair. The RPT Chair walks into the SREC with a list of "suggestions" and expects them to become a part of the SREC's directives. The Business Tax and the TTC have flourished under a Republican-controlled state government, under the direction of the subordinate SREC and the highly influential Republican Party of Texas.
This disregard for the Platform, the Constitution, and the Grassroots can no longer continue. The Grassroots built the strength of this Grand Ol' Party of Texas and should regain its influence. We know what the average voter values. We don't all concentrate on the same priorities: some want an end to pork barrel spending; some desire an end to various federal programs; some demand an end to illegal immigration; some wish to eliminate abortion; some despise the notion of foreign-owned toll roads obtained through eminent domain; some despise the socialist directives of the minimum wage, welfare, socialized healthcare, and all other government intrusions that lead to higher taxes and more government control. Whatever our priorities, Texas Republicans are the most Conservative voters in the country, but our values are rarely reflected by the actions of our elected officials because the Grassroots has little say in the Establishment-controlled RPT.
We're tired of complaining to deaf ears and making excuses to independents. We're tired of losing elections and we are tired of arguing at our local Republican Clubs for the values and beliefs that are already articulated in the RPT Platform. We've told them what we want, but, somehow, our elected officials haven't heard us.
Join the real Conservatives at the State Convention by voting for a Permanent Convention Chair who will ensure a Fair Convention, and, more importantly, by voting for an RPT Chair who will guarantee the kind of meaningful change that will ensure that the Grassroots Republicans have the influence that they rightly deserve.
Make this State Convention meaningful and not just about the social networking. We owe the 10th largest economy in the world our full attention. You owe it to your neighbors to do everything that you can to ensure that the integrity that the Republicans purport to value returns to the Republican Party.
For information about encouraging our Texas Republican Party leaders to follow the rules and in turn make the 2008 Texas Republican Convention fair, please visit .http://www.fairconvention.o...
We, as citizens, voters, and Texans - want and deserve a fair convention.

Ok - I guess the thing to do now is just ask you: Please STOP starting arguements/fights on my blog. Please stop commenting on my blog, Ragman. You only know how to argue. What is the point of coming here - just to fight? You COME to MY blog to tell me how you don't like what I say - and make fun of typos? I don't want or need to deal with trivial and juvenile things... please find someone else to harass. posted by

There was NO hate in either of my post. That is just not true. It was the truth that hurt, not hate. Delete all you want. It just shows how republicans hate---the truth. I "sought out" your blog? That's priceless and quite conceded. It took no "evergy " or energy to reply, just a very small amount of reading. Also I didn't spew hate, but I did spew my beer, when I read the "family values" part of your blog. Now I have to check my E-mail.. posted by

Thanks John! I am always happy to see people who respect what others are doing, regardless of their affiliations. That is why, Ragman, I deleted your previous comment. I actually sent you an email explaining why I deleted it as well. You sought out my personal blog. You took time and evergy to spew hate. No thank you. If I post to a public article and you disagree - great. Tell me your thoughts. But if I wish to keep the hate and fighting to a minimum on my own blog, then I can do so. As I stated in my email to you, this blog entry was to inform the other Republicans about a training that took place tonight. I don't want to argue or read hateful comments on my own blog. So I deleted your comment. I can do that. This is my blog. If you don't like what I have to say - don't take the time to click here, read it, type in that annoying code, and comment.
