Obama and McCain Sittin' In a Tree ... V-O-T-I-N-G
Catching up on my reading, I found this article: http://www.victoriaadvocate... It brushes up on who was elected from our area as a National Delegate. I pushed this idea to “people” at the convention. I thought someone from For reasons stated in an earlier blog, I couldn’t be there the last day of the convention for those nominations, so I can’t add what happened then. Congratulations to Speaking of our Texas Republican Party platform, the Rules Committee tried to pass a rule that ALL TEXAS REPUBLICANS running for office and endorsed by the Party must sign and acknowledge their agreement with the Texas Republican Platform - to receive funding. The rule was shot down. Evidently, the majority your current elected officials (Party Leadership, SREC, office holders, etc.) and the people they appointed decided that this would infringe upon their Constitutional rights.
If you are speechless right about now, don't feel bad. The majority of your Senatorial District (18) was too. I am also shocked because our Republican Party Chairman, Tina Benkiser, told the 10,000 people who were at the convention that, "the Texas Republican Party platform is the best written document in the country, next to the Bible." Like I said - this is a sad time for the Republican Party. A decent amount of John McCain's key votes are consistent with that of Democrats. It sickens me that the media was able to spin his web of nonsense long enough to garner him the Republican nomination. It is also noted by Congressional Quarterly that in 2001, McCain's support for his partyreached an all time low of 67%.
Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watc..., http://www.sonofcain.com
In fact, most of our Republican leaders are voting inconsistent with our party platform and values, and most Republicans sit idly and watch it happen. We have two Democratic Nominees for President, in my opinion. 70% of our great WAKE UP! If McCain and the established members of the Republican Party do not wake up soon and reach out to the MILLIONS of Republicans they are currently ignoring, we will LOSE in November. You know it, I know it, and the Democrats are laughing about it. 12 comments from 7 users

Toni Anne, I shall be humble and apologize for being so harsh to you. I hope that you will forgive me. I do take note of your reply. I was too busy displaying my anger on here. You and I are about the same age, I feel the pain of those who have a hard time to going to work because of fuel cost. Those who are having a hard time rising their children because of unhealthy trends in Hollywood and child-sex craved perverts . You and I are different and have a different school of though. I believe action should be taken. I think the year 2010 is the year to make contact in Texas politcs. posted by

BigJ - I acknowledged my error and fixed it - with sources. Have you not seen my comments below? I guess I don't fully understand what your argument is when I have already noted your response and fixed it - all the while admitting my wrongdoing. posted by

Riverboat, I realize that Toni Anne is thorwing herself into politcs. If you expect me to believe her word or anyone, then why post untruthful facts even from my candidate's campigan. Conservatives want to control the Republican Party and liberals highjack the Democratic Party. Conseratives and liberals do not have the best answer nor the soultions. According to some polls, most Americans are moderates, centist, independent. The conseravtives only care about their ideolgy same as Liberals.
Liberalism and conseravtivism should place into the politcal wilderness....forever. posted by

Exactly. Simply put: I want my country back. We have gone so off course and we need to stand up and bring it back - regardless of your party affiliation. posted by

The percentage of people that don't like the way this country is being run, is well over 80%. I believe the number was 84%. What is wrong with those other 16%? posted by

SLB and BigJ - Noted. My source was a website run by Obama supporters and upon doing extensive research (does an hour count?), I have found that it was not completely factual. The statistics were targeting his votes on CERTAIN issues, not overall. I will make changes to my blog immediately. Thanks for being involved enough with your party and politics to even care - which ultimately is one of my goals.

...well, when he votes... The National Journal only gives McCain a conservative rating of 59% but with a footnote that he missed half the votes. I haven't got info on how often he votes with Democrats but it's readily apparent that he rarely votes with Conservatives. There are a lot of Republicans who seem to vote against Conservatives. You just can't assume a Republican will vote in a way Conservatives would want him/her to vote.
Yes, Ms Benkiser said exactly that. I think the Platform of the Republican Party of Texas is a great document but yeah, maybe Tina misspoke a little. At one time I believe we had a plank in the Platform to require candidates to acknowledge whether or not they agreed with the Platform and to list where they differ from the Platform. If it was taken out, we need to put it back in. We have that chance in two years. Every Republican should read (and be inspired by) the Platform, it's a great document full of examples of conservative principles. posted by

SatanLittleBuddy, You are right. Toni Anne does not have any proof that Mc Cain votes with Dems move than GOP. Toni Anne has just lied. Mc Cain votes 75-85% on conseravtive issues. The ACU a conseravtive group, even says Mc Cain votes in high numbers in right wing issues. Toni Anne, it is one thing to offer your opinion, but giving us lies? Come on. Be truthful to yourself and those who you back. posted by

"John McCain votes along with the Democrats more than he does Republicans." Proof? Or just listening to too much talk radio?
