TV, Weight Loss, and Music Edit: I updated the video below. It is SO much better than the other one. Plus, I LOVE Chicago. I miss Grey’s Anatomy. I am so excited about a new episode this week (Sunday, 9p.m., ABC). The video below is my favorite one (so far). I love the song choice, and now I am thinking of making my own little video as well. Explain It To My Heart - Chicago I have gotten better at taking Leptopril without overdosing on it. I am down three pounds, which...

Project 36 – Day One and Two I overdosed on Leptopril. I wish I was joking, but sadly, I am not. I took my morning dosage of two pills at 10:30 in the morning. I would have taken them sooner, but I am not a breakfast person, and I am very forgetful. I feel like my brain has too many thought processes going through it to function properly, so some of them are discarded and eventually disappear altogether. After I finished making lunch for my son, a man came to my door and told me...

Trying on wedding dresses was one of the worst days of my life. Imagine going into a large, swanky bridal store, and suddenly realizing that you are in the fifth dimension of hell. That is what it felt like. I knew that nothing was going to fit, and the sales clerks were not making me feel any better by ignoring me. This was a few months ago. The woman who assisted me at the bridal store was actually very nice to me, and I ended up falling in love with one dress in particular. I wanted to...

The MechanicA mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop. The surgeon was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc, can I ask you a question?" The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag, and asked, "So Doc, look at this...

Those Calgon commercials used to make no sense to me. I would watch them as a teenager and I just knew there was some sort of sexual meaning behind all of it. The lady (naked) in the bathtub, the bubbles covering just the right spots, and the breathily way she spoke those four simple words. Sex. It was all about sex. I just knew it. I would giggle to myself at how yet another commercial was getting away with polluting young minds in seemingly subliminal ways. It was so obvious. Did the...

(UPDATE: Just to let some of you know - I had some people complain about not being able to see/read my blog because the letters were too small. So now you know why the letters are so big. I now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.)I grew up in Shiner. I know it is not exactly true, but I think I was the only Mexican in my school until I was a sophomore. In Yoakum, less than 10 miles away, there were Mexicans everywhere. It was a completely different world as far as I was concerned,...

I was bowling today. I was supposed to be somewhere else. Ever have that nagging feeling that you forgot about something? I get that all the time. So, I am sorry for missing my meeting today. I was really looking forward to it. But on the upside - my son and I had a blast bowling, so I can't say the time wasn't spent wisely. Grey's Anatomy is coming on now, and we all know that I need my McDreamy fix. I promise I will do a "real" blog later. Until then, eat a Twizzler for me.

I have received quite a few email responses to the blog entry I posted a few days ago. You know the one. I am still getting comments and emails from both sides of the argument, and I want to thank each one of you for voicing your opinion. I know it takes a lot to stand up and say something on either side of this heavily debated topic. The reason for this mini-entry is simple: I hate leaving something unexplained. It is a small pet peeve of mine, and in this case, I felt that some of the...

I didn’t get to watch the Oscars last night because I was still pouting about having to wait another long week to see a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Why couldn’t they have aired the Oscars on some other night when no one (i.e. – me) is waiting to watch his/her favorite show? Bleh. I have been absent (minded) lately and extremely busy with another huge event that I am planning – my wedding. It is my first (only) wedding and I never, in a million years, thought...
