Looking back on my childhood, the best times I had with my parents were when we spent time together doing something we both enjoyed. Parents have always looked for ways to spend time with their kids - sports, hunting, fishing, shopping, going to the movies, etc. And it seems a more technological culture is introducing new ways for families to spend time together - playing video games. I just listened to this report over at NPR.org that talks about a family enjoying the game Rock Band....

If Ebay didn't already offer almost anything and everything, the online auction community gained a new type of user, the airline jetBlue. (*hat tip: Drudge Report) The biding begins between 5 and 10 cents for trips to more than 20 destinations. Unfortunately, I couldn't find Texas as a destination or starting point when I searched the flights. I guess I won't be bidding on any weekend escapades. I have long doubted any "silver bullet" solution as a savior of the newspaper industry.
