From the dumpster to your local thrift store, there are many "treasures" to unearth. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure, and the adventurer in me is drawn to possibility. It's all about embracing randomness (in material form) in all its secondhand glory.

Having grown up with brothers, I used to play with both my Barbies and their Transformers. At one point, Barbie was going out with Optimus Prime, but they broke things off due to irreconcilable differences. She got to keep the dream house.

When "My Little Pony" was over, I watched wrestling. One of the few wrestlers that I consistently liked was the Ultimate Warrior.

A while back, I went into a thrift store. After some time digging around, I found none other than the Ultimate Warrior himself...in Tonka Wrestling Buddy form.

Behold, in all his glory:



If not to simply save a few bucks on much-needed items, thrifting can invoke in you a great sense of nostalgia.

Note: the Ultimate Warrior no longer lives with me, but my friend Jason, who is his ultimate fan.
