10 reasons NOT to vote for Ron Paul !
I do not support Ron Paul in ANY and I find his Congressional record and policies to be, at times, even scarier than his counterparts. The only thing that I have found to agree with him on is the fact that he does not support the war in Iraq. After extensive research I have compiled a list of 10 reasons NOT to vote for Ron Paul!
So there you have it, 10 reasons not to vote for Ron Paul. Please take the time to thoroughly review the records of the people running for office so you know where they really stand. Ron Paul has good rhetoric and he opposes the war but he’s not a good man in the human rights sense of the phrase. He is pretty much like every other Republican but more insidious. After reading your list I am wondering why MORE people aren't behind Ron Paul! He is all about states rights & that is the way it should be. Why shouldn't the best qualified person get the job, scholarship, etc. Why shouldn't the people have the say in their individual states in their educaional system? Why shouldn't the people have the say in their states about abortion, pollution, the environment, gay marriage? As someone else pointed out, if you don't like it then you can move to a state that is more agreeable to you. I would like to keep & save the money I earn & not be taxed at 28% + sales taxes, fuel taxes, sin taxes, etc........pick one tax or another & thank GOD Texas doesn't have a State Income Tax! I am tired of working my rear off while others do little & benefit more than me. I really don't care if other countries like us or not...most of them don't, but they do want our $$...thats your money & my money going off to help other countries that would rather kill us than look at us. Sorta like a global welfare program. Church & State will always be seperate. Gun ownership is our right & we may need them soon. Ron Paul has said what 2 consenting adults do is not the Federal Governments business...again states decision about civil unions. You seem to think the states aren't capable of handling anything & the Feds should basically run our lives & all states should be the same. I say NO.....we should be run & governed by people closer to home that actually know about our region, our needs, our people. We the 50 states are not all the same & we shouldn't be treated all the same. posted by

-Ron Paul does not value equal rights? He has fought to protecting the rights of the smallest minority of all, the individual. So how the heck can he not value equal rights? posted by

Just about everything you posted refers to Ron Paul's views on the FEDERAL government, or his own personal beliefs.
1. As a Libertarian, he advocates personal liberty. That means he doesn't care if you're a minority, you (and everyone else) should be treated equally. As a minority myself, I applaud this stance. Why should I be treated differently -- either positively or negatively -- based on my race, creed, color, etc? 2. Ron Paul is pro-life, and has stated abortion should be a state decision. Roe v. Wade imposes restriction over state authority, and that's why he wants to repeal it. Think about it -- if you lived in a state that outlawed abortion, at least you would have the choice to move to another state. At a federal level, you have no choice. 4. Ron Paul is in favor of abolishing the personal federal income tax. What could be more fair, regardless of your income level? As for repealing capital gains tax, estate tax, etc. -- I should be rewarded for saving and investing, not punished. I worked hard to earn that money and I should be allowed to keep it and pass it on without penalty. 6. We keep sticking our noses in other people's business and wonder why the world doesn't like us. Non-intervention and a strong national defense is his platform. Like treating every individual as an equal, Ron Paul proposes treating every country as an equal, not resorting to sanctions and favoritism. 7. Refer to #1. He wants to let the states determine their own policies, and get the federal government out of your business. 8. Guns are like nuclear weapons. Those that have them bully those that don't. It's a Pandora's Box, and trying to close it by passing gun control laws isn't going to stop those with criminal intent. But knowing that you're likely to be shot because everyone else has a gun will make you think twice about committing that violent crime. 9. You've got one thing right, our education system is sad. That's why Ron Paul supports homeschooling, and freedom of the communities and PTAs to decide what's best for their children. Our kids would be much better off if their parents actually took a personal interest in their education, rather than leave it to the bureaucrats in DC. As for your claim of bigotry, sounds to me like he wants to get rid of affirmative action. Again see #1. Measure based on performance and ability, not creed or color. Why is that so hard to accept? 10. Give me the ability to provide for myself and my family (no federal income tax), the support to teach my children what and how I want (homeschool or PTA-driven curriculum), respect for my worth as an individual (Libertarian), and freedom of choice -- and I will wager no single religion will exert more sway than I allow it to. By the way, I'm Buddhist. posted by

Ron Paul = Waste of a vote Go ahead and preach to me how the veterans are supporting him or the active military supports him. Blah, blah, blah...he's still wasting the money you idiots donated to him on a worthless presidential campaign that he refuses to concede. What a complete waste of time and money! posted by

Ron Paul IS the only person in the campaign with the integrity and intelligence to turn our country around by getting us back to what this country was built upon. The Constitution. Try coming up with 10 reasons we should vote for any of the other candidates.

While I agree Ron Paul is not a good representative for the 14th Congressional District, he is just one among 535 elected representatives. His ideas and proposals have never and never will be implement. He is a harmless Doctor No. His opponent is no better. posted by

So in other words, your saying because he supports what the Constitution/Bill of Rights says (seperation of church and state, right to own and bear arms, non-intervention in foreign affairs, etc), you say he is not electible. Because he wants competition in the markets/schools you say he is not electible (I might be wrong but I always thought competition improved things usually at lower costs and an improved product), because he supports a sound currency that is not printed out of thin air and he returns money to the government you say he is not electible. Because he wants to leave it to the individual state's on allowing same sex marriage, you say he is not electable. Because he supports supplying our needs from our own shores by getting our own oil, minerals, etc from our country (instead of getting them from another country and screwing up that countries enviroment) you say he is unelectable. My personal opinion is what we are doing now is not working, we are a country of importing and consuming. Maybe its time we went back to what did work before the government got involved in every aspect of our lives and elect Ron Paul, posted by
