Places to go in San Antonio,Texas

Next weekend we are going to San Antonio, childless:)

Corpus has always been our destination spot when we travel but we've decided to change things up a bit and head to San Antonio next weekend.I've searched the web and have found many  places to go to in S.A. but would like to hear from people that have actually been to SA and what they thought about the city and there attractions.

We are also looking for a nice Hotel to stay at that is worth what you pay for.

Downtown is the place to be when one is childless!  If you can, stay downtown also....there are many different hotels down there at all different rates.  Also try hotwire to see if you can get discounted rates at nicer hotels.  When you are downtown there is no need to drive & most things are close so if you do need to drive it won't be very far.  Restaurants and such on the riverwalk range from reasonable/cheap to pricey.  Anything one would want or need can be found & it is so fun to wander around the streets late at night (safe also).  Horse drawn carriage rides set a romantic mood & offer a nice way to see sights & figure out where you would want to go without sweating & killing your feet.  Hope you have lots of fun!

Oh my god San Antonio is the place for fun. There is Fiesta Texas, Sea World, The River Walk, The Institute of Texan Cultures.,Hemisphere plaza, Missions, The Alamo, The wax museum, Ripley's believe it or not , The San Antonio Zoo, The Botanical gardens, Breckenridge park, and the list goes on and on. Oh and the restaurants are awesome. I have been all over San Antonio and have loved every bit of it. You will have to travel there many times to enjoy all of what San Antonio has to offer. It has such rich history alone makes it one of the best places to visit. You will not be disappointed.
