Belated Halloween and Request for Topics
Good day all!

I hope this entry finds you in good health, in good spirits and thoroughly frightened.

Halloween has passed and from what I hear things were quite rowdy for a few my friends in the Victoria area, something about a live band in Raul’s back yard.

Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays. What other holiday allows you to dress up, run around town and beg for candy. I have many fond memories of Halloween.

I once wrapped my self from head to toe in athletic tape. Those of you who know me are gasping right about now. No worse than having my back waxed. That’s a whole other story! The neighbors were NOT impressed with the athletic tape that is.

When I was child Halloween in Port O’Connor had to be my all time favorite. The elementary school would through a big carnival for the kids complete with costume contests, games, prizes and of course lots of candy. Teachers would run the games and open their classrooms to parents. Great discussion would ensue about the ability of the local children or the lack their of. “Those dang Munsch Boys!” Once again I have no idea how we did it. The local Coast Guard station would put on a massive haunted house, which still happens to be one of my favorites to this day.

Growing older makes you want to take things into your own hands. More than I care to admit on this website but as it so happens the older we got the more into Halloween we all seemed to get. Now it was time to do a haunted house of our own. A long lost friend of mine by the name of Brandon put together this elaborate haunted scene at his childhood home in the big POC. Graves stood out by the road, ghouls swung from the trees and even floating heads would make their way out of the bushes from time to time depending on how well the fishing line would hold up. A giant wolf guarded the candy at the top of the stairs, which just happen to be me. (please, no comments about my fur coat) I remember one little boy specifically as he climbed the stairs with his mother slowly little snaps would pop under his feet. He was quite and reserved as he approached the candy bowl and slowly dug his handful out. Suddenly, the wolf jumped out and growled and quickly got a face full of candy. The young boy and his mother scurried down the stairs as quickly as they could, the mother chasing her son. By the time they reached the bottom of the stairs I had the mask off and was carrying the bowl of candy down to the youngster.

In later years we went to shave this lady’s cat but decided that it wasn’t worth the trouble and was really mean to the cat when she was innocent.

Here kitty, kitty!

Okay I’m done…

I am taking requests on topics!

Is there something you really want to know about? Do you feel like the local news is inadequate?

Yes and me too!

Send me your requests and I’ll dig a little deeper or throw my opinion at you and you can razz me for my inadequate journalism style and bad spelling! Okay, lets be realistic I am just going to throw my opinion at you. Like I have time for things like truth and research! Hey look, I’m a modern day journalist!

Have a great weekend and think of me as I’m flying over Colorado/Wyoming/Nebraska preparing my troops.

Sorry about the delay in posting this. Things got a little hectic. (Written last week)
