Toni Anne - I think I know where LatinDaddy went wrong with the numbers in his research. If you are interested, please see his newest blog, where he sites the research. Very interesting. Here is my response, posted in that blog: Latin Daddy - thanks for posting some of this research. In previous blogs, you have stated your interpretation of this information as right-handed males, in order of birth, being something like 1st - 2%, 2nd - 33%, 3rd - 66%, and 4th - 99%. Or around those figures, anyway. Now I see how your miscalculation occurred. The actual study states that, Blanchard and Klassen (1997) reported that each older brother increases the odds of being gay by 33%, so this means that you don't ADD 33 to each son born, but that the initial 2% chance of being born gay becomes 2% TIMES 33%, which amounts to 2.66% (approximately) for the second son, 3.54% for the third son, and 4.70% for the fourth son. Now do you understand? You have misinterpreted these statistics in a BIG way. I'm not picking on you, LatinDaddy, at all, nor am I taking sides in this debate. Just want to make sure that the statistics are understood in the way that they are presented. You have made quite a mathematical error. Unless a person understands statistics and the calculations presented therin, data can be greatly misconstrued and misrepresented, just as you have done. I think it would reflect well on you to present a correction, for some may have been mislead by your interpretation of these numbers. It would still serve to back up your point, which is that each successive generation of right-handed males have an increasing chance of being homosexual, according to this research. It is just the numbers that turn out being vastly different. Thank you for letting me help you understand this, LatinDaddy. Hope this helps clear up those numbers (particularly the 99%!). I knew that couldn't be correct, either, Toni Anne. Thanks. posted by

Also - Latin - you told me to be "open" to things. Again - please cite an instance in which I have not been open. posted by

I am not a "gay hater," for the record. I would like for someone - somewhere - to show me where I posted ANYTHING that resembled a hate statement or something to warrant me being a gay hater. All I did was disagree with some pretty "off" statistics that implied if I had 4 sons that were right handed, my fourth would have a 99% chance of being gay. That is my opinion. Also - the only reason I ever commented in the first place is because I am tired of having to defend who *I* am to people with alternative lifestyles... just like you are tired. I have never posted anything about "those crazy gay groups" have I? I bet if I did - you would be all over my blog in a heartbeat. Just look at both sides.... and come to grips with yourself and be happy. posted by

BigJ,no homosexuality can not be cured because there is nothing to cure. If your not a gay hater that's great but why are you taking up for those who are?

Latindaddy, stop LYING. You are a lair. The research you still pimping out has a bias to it. You can not have a research that says abc , but leave out xyz. Just accept the fact that your research is not evenhanded. Latin daddy, you are the one that needs to claim down, not Toni Anne. How many mistruths, complains, crying, and whines you conducted on this forum? No body gives a d@mn about you being gay? But when you come up on here giving out misinformation, branding people as haters, and displaying sucky attitude, then it becomes a problem. Maybe homosexuality can not be cured, but your sorry attitude and behavior can be. Take that You’re a hater statement to bed because you are not going anyway with it. posted by

ToniAnne, I want you to look back at the logic you just used to "fight" against me, in your words, by the way how can you see hostility from a computer screen?, I mean no disrespect, but I think you are the one who needs to calm down. For once, be open to things that are seen by your peers as "not normal". I didn't mean to impose hostile feelings towards you, and I hope that if you did feel bad, that you forgive me. I don't have a cause, Is christianity a cause? NO, it's your choice to worship any God or Gods you want. Why can't people accept Gay? which has already been established as something that can't be controlled. Can you answer me that? posted by

You know - you can ask some of my close friends, I am pretty tolerant. I just live and let live... But I have to make a comment here. Calm down. By attacking people who believe differently than you - you aren't doing your cause any good. I am a christian and I have my beliefs about homosexuality. That is my right. I have never once preached and tried to push my thoughts about that here, yet you attack me and in turn my family is attacked because I felt in agreeance that "God did not DESIGN anyone to be gay." I also questioned your statistics. If you have 4 boys, the 4th one has a 99% of being gay? Are you serious? So finally - I believe that God didn't design men to have sex with men and women to have sex with women. It is impossible, and if you have had sex, I would assume you have found that out already. Have you been able to get another man pregnant? Exactly. That is my point. God didn't design us to be gay, that is my opinion - I don't see how that warranted such ugly comments from anyone. Like someone else said, if you know that God is ok with your lifestyle and being gay - then why are you so angry about it all the time? Calm down. If you read a lot of your comments, you are not educating - only making people dislike you for your own lack of compassion towards us "bible thumpers, etc." posted by

Why don't you post someone with some creditability who is not some one KNOWN with an agenda to make a point? She totally blows it by not including, "Go and sin no more". Everybody is worried about people not upsetting Muslims and a Mosque and then put this BS out.
This is like posting Keith Olbermann to make a point against GW and the Iraq war. Creditability!!!
Just my vent. Later.
