TO MIKE ETAL DEMS CAN"T LIE RIGHT?
Since openminded mike will not allow my comments to stay on his blog I shall write them here. mike professes to be open minded but evidently not on the Democrat party. mike has stated several times that the only judgement he uses in determining who to vote for is IS THE PERSON RUNNING AS A DEMOCRAT? I imagine it is a real dilemma for mike and fellow believers in the inerrancy of the democrat party and all democrats when Bill Clinton declares Obama played the race card on me.Bill is about as high on the food chain as a Dem can get so he is bound to be right but wait a minute Obama says in effect that what Clinton says is a dirty lie. The polls that really count you know the election ones that count have shown in recent years that the majority by vote count do support more Republican candidates than Democrats. The left wing Dems have elected bupkus I can just feature what a blog with Democratic Strategist, Talking Points Memo, on it will be. Never mind going over there The talking points will be on here on mike or some other LW blog. posted by

TO THE STRAIGHT PARTY VOTING DEMS WE THANK YOU
Matter of fact as unbelievable as it may seem mike and I voted for the same candidate. since mike boasts that he always vote the straight dem ticket I asked him if he knew he was voting for Ken Armbrister also. mike replied that although Ken was no better than a Republican and voted more like a Republican than Democrat he still pulled the party lever. I voted for Ken also because I like what he stood for, like the way he help redistrict Texas and stayed in Austin instead of running like rabbits and hiding out. mike voted for Ken because he on the Democrat ticket. So mike and the other "Straight Party" loyalist help elect a man who had a big hand in the redistricting job that help the Republicans elect even more of their own. Passeth beyond all understanding.

BY THEIR WORDS YE SHALL KNOW THEM mike wrote while not busy deleting others from his blog”Perhaps I should've said that I can understand why those on the right do the same when it comes to Al Franken, Rachel Maddow or Dusty Rhodes. mike also has quoted Bill Maher in the past. Bill probably hit bottom when he called the Pope a Nazi and made sexual jokes about him and the communion Maher : why I’d like to tip off law enforcement to an even larger child-abusing religious cult. Its leader also has a compound, and this guy not only operates outside the bounds of the law, but he used to be a Nazi and he wears funny hats. That’s right, the Pope is coming to America this week and ladies, he’s single!" At the "funny hat" line, Maher displayed a picture of Pope Benedict wearing a wide-brimmed hat called a saturno Maher has a long record of mocking religion in general and the Catholic Church in particular. A few months earlier in January 2008, Maher mocked Catholics’ belief concerning the Eucharist and called Jesus a "2,000 year-old space god." In May 2007, he compared the sacrament to gay oral sex. And in April 2007, he joked about President Bush attending the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast and how "you could tell this was a Catholic prayer breakfast because [Maher laughs] it was in the morning and he said 'I'm dying for a little joe' and they brought him an altar boy." Why do the Liberal Democrats seem so fond of commentators who are like the old joke If you censored all the profanity, vulgarities, scatological words they would have nothing to say.? And then they cry because their rating are in the toilet where so much of their vocabulary seems to originate. Well the old saying about birds of a feather comes to mind. I am not familiar with Maddow but since she is on Air America ( big whoopde do) I am sure she qualifies also. and I assume that mike means Randy Rhodes late of the low watt low listener Air America posted by

Generalizations are often good Ragman. As in I like MOST pizza, but not all. Now, negative generalizations, more often called stereotypes, are not cool. As far as name calling, are you saying that you've never engaged in that? I just heard some glass shattering! I agree, as a registered Democrat, to your generalization that there is enough hypocrisy for both parties. That's why I vote for the person and his issues. Voted Democrat in the last election, too. Love that county commissioner!

Wow, you two guys are so open--minded, and never resort to name calling. You guys would never generalize.............And of course you both vote for the man running, not the party, always voting for members of both parties. (I do, but that's me) There is enough hypocrisy to go around for both parties. Let the one without sin cast............You get the idea. Oh, yea--try spell check, it is a wonderful invention.... openminded mike mike has stated several times that the only judgement he uses in determining who to vote for is IS THE PERSON RUNNING AS A DEMOCRAT? proudly closed-minded and well tell that to any and everyone. Intelligent debate and Liberal are oxymoron's. they don't go together it seems. (one of my favorites, cause--it makes no sense, I know what the thought was, but really) Funny. Mike and others claim to want intelligent debate yet when anyone dose debate them. they start makign personal attacks, calling us names, attacking our credibility, ETAL DEMS CAN"T LIE RIGHT? posted by

Hello Sailor, Your point is well taken that if someone states he is close-minded, then their debate is pointless. I don't know what is going on with you guys. Guess I need to read a little bit. I can see where deleting some posts is sometimes needed. I can imagine being harrassed by a.... anti-Catholic, Czech-hating, whatever. I think that option should be available. BUT, and this is a big but.... I think that if someone is discussing issues and not doing so with name-calling, hate-mongering, etc. then let the facts, logic, the good debate roll. The problem is that one person's defensive nature might see discussing facts as dangerous. I don't think we should ever be afraid of facts, even when they hurt us. There's got to be an explanation or a changing of ways to amend the things that are wrong. That's why I think Mike will debate on facts. One thing I try not to do is shut someone out permanently here., as in not giving them a second chance. We all have a touch of the schmuck in us. certainly yours truly I always hope there is room for improvement and change. Happy sailing. posted by

Mike has never claimed to be open-minded, in point of fact he is proudly closed-minded and well tell that to any and everyone.
It was right after he posted as much in an open forum and I made my opinion known that if he is so closed minded, then his arguments are automatically irrelevant. and that all he can do is attack any who would disagree with his closed-minded view. furthermore I predicted that he would call me a closed-minded right winger and attack me for making my opinion known. And surprise surprise that is exactly what he did. went on the attack told me I was butting in on and open forum mind you. and yes, he called me a closed minded right winger. Maryann I saw Mike over on your blog and I sooo wanted to say something but out of respect for you I did not. I am sure I am one of the 3 that Mike calls trolls. and blocks . I have never been and nor will I ever troll. I do as you wanted to do with your latest blog. and that is to intelligently debate Obama. Intelligent debate and Liberal are oxymoron's. they don't go together it seems. I also noted that Mike never once did anything as your blog wanted. a debate from Dems over Obama. All Mike could do was espouse on "trolls" etc.. and about he deletes certain people posts. Basically he will delete anyone he can and anyone means anyone who will not agree to his view of things. That is the pure definition of closed-mindedness that Mike loves. I bet if Mike DID have the power of advocate moderator over the open forums this site would be so lively you could hear crickets chirping Funny. Mike and others claim to want intelligent debate yet when anyone dose debate them. they start makign personal attacks, calling us names, attacking our credibility, MMKO just called everyone who disagrees with Obama for Pres, a child. Whenever I have tried to engage them in intelligent dfebate over the facts I have been accused of attacking them and then they turn around and attack me. go figure.

Roy, I think you do a great job at pointing out the liberal contradictions. BTW, I realize there are a few "conservative contradictions" too. Too bad liberal isn't such a good word any more, as historically it was a noble one. Anyway, I think you might be off the "mark" on Mike believing in the inerrancy of the Democratic Party. I do believe that Mike would admit errors of the party, if he saw them as errors. He does admit he's wrong here, without being prodded. I've seen it, and humility great virtue in today's world. I would think that would carry over to admiting that one's party is wrong as well. Perhaps he's done this and you haven't seen it. Anyway, have a good day.
