pilot - > A Pirate Aground In The City -> Ten for Thursday
Ten for Thursday
Okay CJ - here you go - don't expect this from me on too regular a basis....

1. I got my Texas drivers license unrestricted at age 14 after a drivers education course, no hardship or special circumstances, during a brief period of temporary insanity in our state licensing laws.

2. My great, great grandfather fought against the Mexican Army at Goliad and survived the massacre. His cousin was the first Secretary of State of the Republic of Texas.

3. My first "girlfriend" or puppy love, as a fifth grader, died while we were in school, on Dec. 1,1960. I still have the wallet size school photo she gave me that fall, and I still visit her grave.

4. I entered the Texas Water Safari twice, at ages eighteen and nineteen. I actually finished it in 1969! Once was enough, I was cured.

5. I have walked the length of the Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico to Galena, Illinois, the birthplace of Ulysses S. Grant.

6. I climbed approximately one telephone pole out of every five along the railroad line that parallels that stretch of the Mississippi.

7. My favorite sport/pasttime has me routinely riding in lawn furniture hanging from a cable, in zero degree weather, sometimes as high as 13,000 feet.

8. I am deathly afraid of heights.

9. I have been to more plays on Broadway than to professional football games.

10. I have picked cotton by hand, for a paycheck.

Okay, who's next?
