Warning - Bank Records Scam
This may be naive on my part and more common than I am aware of, but I want to share it with you all. I received a quite official looking e-mail from "XXXXX Bank", correct logo and everything, where I do have an account, informing me that on a certain date, unauthorized withdrawals may have occurred from my bank account, and that my account was temporarily blocked from activity. It further directed me to a link I could click on to restore my status. Long story shortened somewhat: I do not do the banking at my house - wife is the CFO - probably safer that way. Another thing, I don't do any transactions using the e-mail address at work where I received it. That was another flag. We contacted our bank from home last night and were informed that it was a phishing trip attempted from our ship. This e-mail looked like the real deal. I am glad I did not try the link. Be warned - if someone tries somthing like that with you, CALL your bank at the number you have for them, and inform them.
