That's 700 Billion Folks....With a B(u)
As in buck$ spent in Iraq. As In Bush. As in Booger Eating Moron. In case you haven't noticed, this retarded bungling, bozo, blind, bought and paid for, "beats me", "boy, how'd that happen", bastard in the White House has a hand farther up his butt than Howdy Doody. (yes I know Howdy was a marionette....don't get technical with me). The fool is a puppet folks. Jesus Christ people(back off, onewhoshappy), can't you see that? On this moron's watch, not only have the Wall Street crooks been allowed to take our money and run, in plain freaking sight, but at the same time, this bozo has managed to march thousands of young men and women to their deaths, and pay likely as much to accomplish that unconscionable, horrific feat,(so far with impunity- I am thinking war crimes trial for the buffoon) , as he is ignorantly trying to appropriate from us to post 700 bil as bail for the crooks he has allowed to walk on Wall Street! This isn't rocket science. This isn't even slick, questionable accounting. It is out and out thievery. That tickle you feel in your pants guys, is not somebody trying to pleasure you, as he would have you believe. He is after what you have left in your money clip. Recession? Maybe that is just what we need. Let's see a little wild in the streets. Let's see who has cash and who is jumping out of 90th floor windows on Wall Street. The jig is up. And George W. Frat boy, cheerleader, "mission accomplished", all hat and no cattle, who got the gig because of his name and our apathy, and who continues to sully his war monger dad's name, continues to shovel dookey into that basket by his oval orifice that says "Bush Legacy". Now on a less radical tack, I might suggest, that each and every failing financial institution, on a one by one basis, if it takes a decade, be analyzed, and once the guilty parties who were found stupid and greedy identified, and jailed and financially garroted, then have a one day senate hearing on whether what remained was worth funding in terms of a bailout. If we let these neocons give these crooks 700 bil all at once, they, will be gone in sixty seconds with the money, and a bunch of clueless Democrats will be scrambling to convene hearings to figure out where the hell it went, and we will be left scratching our heads as usual, cranking up the mints to print another 700 bil. Fool me once, shame on you.......fool me twice, shame on your ***. 11 comments from 7 users

Funny the problem started by offering the middle class and the poor an oppurituny for home ownership, with nothing down, and little proff they could easily make loan payments. Started on Clinton's watch. But that really does not matter. The question is how do we endure this mess with the least bit of pain. What is the truth? If there is no bail out, will only the fat cats on wall street suffer? If you have a 401 (k) at work, what will it's value be if there is no bail out? Will it be less than 3 cents on 3 dollars. Many stocks sale for more than 300 times their asset values. Will many of house mortgage loans be called? Will the mortagage company demand higher payments? Will the banks that back our current credit cards lower our limits and increase fees or interest rates? If you have credit cards, just over the last few months you probably already seen a letter stating you either pay off the balance or pay a higher interest rate. I have even know individuals that are now over drawn on their credit cards because their credit limit was reduced. Now they are trying to catch up with late fees and paying the balance down. When you go and try and get a auto lease or purchase a new car, even if you have perfect credit, expect to put a down payment of at least 20% on the auto. We you work for a company that has to get loans to take on a new project, you better start looking for a new job, the company will be laying off employees, because no loan, no job. The thing I wonder, is the bailout really a bailout? Will the AIG still fall apart? Will taxpayers get their money back from the bailout loan? Dang, it sure is a lot of money, almost a half million dollars for every American citizen over 18 years old. Guess I am bias, I no longer own any stock, I don't work in the auto industry, i don't work in construction. And it may be tough at times, but I could learn to live without some form of credit. So many questions and do we trust politicians with the correct answers?

I understand your anger, but to blame it on President Bush is not being productive. Since when does the President of the United States hold the purse string on where and when tax dollars are spent. The last time I looked the Congress holds the purse of the government. They make the laws, not the President. The President may suggest, and use his power of veto to threaten/prevent a law from becoming a law, but he does not have the power to spend a dime of taxpayer's money without the approval of the Congress. So blaming President Bush or any President for regulations, lack of regulations, the budget, expenditures of the government, and the general law of the land, the largest blame has to be on the heads of Congress. Guess I am shocked to hear so much blame on our current President or prior President---Yet, I do not hear people blaming their elected Senator or Congress person for the mess in Washington. Did so many people not learn anything when they took history classes in school? I hate the blame game. As long as American citizens accept the blame game from their elected officials, they will lose. Only the politicians win playing the blame game. As American citizens, every time we hear them blaming someone, we need to ask, "So what are you doing about solving the problem?" "If you are not part of solving the problem, you need to get out of the way, and let someone solve them." We need to stop caring so much about who is to blame, we need to stop boat from sinking. When everything is fixed, they we can look at who was to blame. I also, contend that American citizens need to demand that Congress be reduced to 100 members, with over 400 members it is amazing anything is agreed upon. posted by

williet - you are a one way commenter - with a blocked profile so I can't tell if you just signed on today to rag on me, or have been lurking around for a spell. If you had been around last week, you would have briefly seen a post of mine dragging Slick Willie over the coals too along with Billary. Unfortunately, some took exception to my sexual references and language, and I was forced to pull it. if you want to read it, unblock or e-mail me and I will send it to you. As far as Sarah Palin, I have honestly not seen much of her after her acceptance speech, so I havent posted anything yay or nay. What thoughts I have had since seeing her, I would probably just get in dutch again for posting anyway. I'll like look in on the debate Thur. though, and not just to see what she is wearing, or hoping for an uppie. Yup, I am pretty liberal.......but that is tempered somewhat by my being forty eighteen years old, and the father of 11 and 13 year old Norwegian/Texan blonde boys. oh, and I ain't a potus hater or disser. I have seen them all from hairyasstruman thru trickydick and goober carter in all their glory and lying, and never had an issue with one being so stupid or totally inept and unqualified as the idiot in there now, to the point that I dissed them......well, maybe Nickson just a hair, but trickydick scared us hippies at the time - until he tucked his tail and abdicated.

I just love how you left leaning morons make degrading the office of POTUS your daily duty. I don't remember hearing any of this total disrepect when Bill got caught doing the cigar boogie in the Oval Office. If I were to say one derogatory statement about your beloved Messiah or his family like you do about President Bush, Senator McCain, or Sarah Palin and her family I would be turned over to and investigated by the ethics police. And by the way, I don't know which polls you have been reading but the ones that I believe have Senator McCain up....not the jig. Your words, not mine!

Ragman's assessment is close to the mark. If I may tweak his words a bit, I abso-bloody-lutely agree with this statement: If the government gives money to poor folks, it is called socialism . . . When the fat cats get money it is called a bail out. I can't agree with everything he said because he included the free market in his litany of pejoratives. It's NOT a free market if the government is bailing it out. It's a scandal, an outrage, a platinum band-aid. Whatever you want to call it, it's NOT a free market. posted by

"dumber than dirt Democrats " There is no such thing. LOL It is funny, if the government gives money to poor folks, it is called socialism and they are refered to as shiftless and lazy. When the fat cats get money it is called a "bail out", of the "free market." My arse! I say the fat cats are shiftless and lazy and feed off of the bones of those who labor. No bail out, these beastard need to suck it up and get on down the road. You won't be fooled again! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
