Watch what they ring up for you...
Today with my first experience shopping at the new Fallas Paredes store. I got more then I bargained for. My family and I went into the store mainly because they had a rack outside that had a few cute shirts. When we decided to go in we browsed a bit and got another shirt. The two shirts we picked out were $3.99 and $1.99...a great deal!! Or so we thought. The cashier rang up our 2 items and I paid the total...not really thinking about the price. When my family and I got back to our car I looked at the receipt that I had gotten from the cashier. I was shocked when I saw that the cashier had rang up the $3.99 shirt two times, instead of ringing up $3.99 and $1.99. Ok, no big deal...my husband went back into the store thinking that he could just point out the mistake and he would get back the difference because after all it was the cashiers fault, and we would be on our way. Amazingly it was some huge deal...they refused to correct their mistake and were rather rude to my husband. I was in shock when my husband told me the manager told him they have a no refund policy. Apparently the manager kept telling him that there was a policy on the counter and that they will not refund his money in cash. The manager also insisted that their cash registers would not allow them to refund the money. So my husband left the store with a gift card for a whole $4.32. We now have to return to the store to spend it..or we lose our money. (it's not much money at all...but its the point behind it...we had our receipt and it wasn't the fact that we were returning anything, it was the cashier that was at fault! She made the mistake!) I'm really rather concerned about the people that go into the store and purchase a number of items. What happens with large orders that could be rung up wrong? Are they suckered into HAVING to return to the store to spend their gift cards for any mistakes a cashier makes? Their policy has the potential to be a real problem and cost someone quiet a bit of money. Seems like a bit of a scam for this store to just make more money. I'm flustered by the fact that my husband was back in the store less then 5 minutes after we left the store pointing out the mistake, and they refuse to correct the problem in the manner WE wanted. What ever happened to "The customer is always right?" What would have happened if the cashier had given me the wrong change?? Would that have to be on a gift card too??? Ridiculous!!

Wow I haven't seen this store yet. I live in Rockport but come to Victoria often. I am so glad I found this out. I would have been so durn mad. Where do these businesses get off thinking they are doing us a favor by letting us shop there? I will not put up with places like this. It is the customer that makes or breaks them and in this case I hope they break! A few weeks ago I took my granddaughter to foreverXXI in Corpus and when we checked out they gave us a long list of what's not returnable. Think I will just stick to the tried and true stores. Have a great day!
