where are the shows
hi every body i'm a two year resident to victoria and i'm trying to find out when and where the art shows happen around here for local artist's to show off and possibly sell some work, i'm turning out some good work but it's all going to people in the mid west or florida area, where's the market around here, what nobody likes art in victoria

I think that some one with influential standing in the Victoria community should put together a weekend get together at deleon plaza called "Art in the park " .For all starving artist's to display their work . If it is successful than maybe have it an annual event. Market days is not enough we need more at the plaza on the weekend during the summer. it's dead at the plaza most of the year, lets livin' it up a bit there are some young people left in Victoria over the age of forty , you do know that right

I think that's a great idea. You may also want to run the idea by some of the local art organizations or even the Chamber of Commerce. Maybe they could help you get it going. Good idea, Roddy. Why don't YOU be that influential person? Call parks and rec director Doug Cochran at the City and discuss this with him. If you want this bad enough, don't wait for someone else. Make it happen.
