Some can't stand it
Being interested in politics, history, government, society changes, generational things, there is not much telling what will be coming up here. Some will agree, some will not, some will say I didn't know that, some will say "you @#$%&*^#$".

I looked and looked and looked.  Hardly anywhere to be found. One of the most heroric and brave things ever in the history of the world and hardly anything said about the date. One of the things why we are free.

Is it that we are so involved with useless things and stupid presidential candidate thoughts, we know what they are going to do already.

Have the politics and education of things, the media become so focused on silliness, that they have forgot? I keep hearing about National Donut Day.

SAD.

The video was done by a young one who remembered. Good job.

God Bless these brave soles. WWII Brothers in arms of my dad and his brothers. And the brothers of my mom. A couple were there.

The wife and I went to go see  the movie, or documentary "Expelled, No Intelligence Allowed". She really did not want to go see it since documentary's are not really her style but she was glad she did go.

I am not going to go one side or the other here but before you "judge" this film by what others say at least see it yourself. It is not a date film but it is done well when putting it up against other's of the same type. And it is not that long as films go. Take a chance, go with an open mind. As they say science should be looked at through an open door to see both sides. Parents I would suggest the high schoolers up, before you send them off.

The DNA helix gaphics are awesome.

Thanks, US government. Thanks for giving us a future of ever increasing oil prices basing decisions on bad science.

You put ANWAR off limits to drilling again, the offshore continental shelf off limits, stopped the filling of the strategic reserve in war time, now you put the Polar Bears on the endangered species list as their numbers GROW and GROW and the ice thickens. One vocal group does not even want what is the best for electrical  power, Nuclear. Even Europe has figured that out.

You just have condemned your poor, your disabled and your elderly on fixed incomes, your small businesses, the heart of the US to ever increasing prices due to oil costs without any kind of viable, reliable, sensible backup energy source near ready. The low income cannot afford hybrids, even used. Cannot afford to upgrade their houses for more efficient energy using. And you just put us at the mercy of OPEC even now and for years to come. All without a presidential candidate that has a clue as to what to do with the real science. One year of study has overruled 30 years of study of the bears which has shown a 5 fold increase in the bears.

All, for unproven, incorrect, just plain bad science. This now concludes and proves that we DO NOT have a right wing conservative near the controls in DC, nor have we had one for a while, and with the stump speech the other day do we not have one running.

The question will be do you want to pay the utility bills, put gas in your scooter, or buy food.

Those with enough money who think taxes are not high enough will use all the tax write offs they can get to keep from paying the taxes to help those who will be in need.

Case closed. See ya at the loan officer desk.

Who do we blame for the low domestic oil, gas and coal reserves today? It is those that put all the areas now needed off limits.

ANWR can be safely drilled by those that have vast experience in drilling in the Alaska territories Exxon/Mobil, BP and such. It is proven they can do this and it does not disturb the Caribou/Reindeer (same animal), moose, etc. The Alaskan pipeline proved it does not disturb things like they said it would. It is only a small portion that would be drilled and put into production. The size of Delaware in a state that is larger than half of the US. They can drill safely in the Arctic area deep waters. They can safely drill in the shallow and waters of the Continental shelf off the East, West and Gulf Coast. Billions of barrels of oil and vast cu. Ft. of natural gas are there.  The majority of Alaskans favor this action. It is OTA’s, Other Than Alaskans, who are not in favor. This from a personally known resident of Alaskan.
The propaganda nowadays is that the polar bears are going extinct. The actual figures are that there are 100 to 150% more polar bears today than in the counts of the 1960's. A survey of the animals' numbers in Canada's eastern Arctic has revealed that they are thriving, not declining. In the Davis Strait area, a 140,000-square kilometre region, the polar bear population has grown from 850 in the mid-1980s to 2,100 as of March,2007. "There aren't just a few more bears. There are a hell of a lot more bears," said Mitch Taylor, a polar bear biologist who has spent 20 years studying the animals.

We could have added wind farms to the offshore and onshore areas that can put out the wind to run the wind generator turbines.

Some of the best low sulfur, high Btu coal in the world in here in the US and could be being use today. The kind that is needed and required to burn in coal power plants to meet todays and future emission standards. Off Limits.

Some say there is no time to drill now because it is too late; it will be 6 to 10 years before that oil will be on line. Well it would be on line today if the administration had not bowed down to the big money of the wacko environmental groups back in 1990’s.  The Alaskan wildlife would be just fine just like they are now. The fish would be just fine just like they are now. But the well to do who sit by the sea shore and do not want to see oil rigs and wind turbines would have their  visions blinded some. While they sit on their multi-$$$$$$$$ porches.

Would we be just fine with as much reserve as we would ever need? No, but we would be much better off with the time we need to obtain, to address issues we have to deal with. Today's presidential candidates are not any better so expect no help with the energy thing soon

Just watched Hillary's second part interview with Bill O'Reilly.

I'm impressed with her. She showed she was trying to communicate with ALL people, not just hiding behind progressive liberals like Matthews, Oralmann on places like MSNBC, CNN, GMA, etc.

Do I agree with her, NO on about 90% of what she said. She showed that she is a true progressive, nowadays new age liberal (which is different than an old age true European style liberal), almost socialist with forced income redistribution.

But...she had the guts and, well you know more than Obama, to come on a show that does not agree with her mostly, in front of a viewer-ship that probably does not agree with most of what she believes and wants to do. You have to give her an atta girl for that. She is wrong on immigration, Iran, ANWAR, Nuclear, etc. That is a sign of a maturing politician. Something the rest of the field like Edwards and the others who Coward and wha, wha'd I'm not debating for Fox because they do not agree with me. Something the Rep had the maturity to do for the others.

My guy for in presidential race did not make it through the primaries. I am not very impressed with the rest. Out of the three left that are running would I vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton, HECK NO!!!!  But I have to give to her, she is heads above Barack Hussein Obama in guts and gumption.

Do I hate environmentalists, or those that are truly helping things in a realistic view and way? Do I think nothing should be done or we have no problems?

NO!! I have a real problem with wacko, anti capitalists who portray themselves as kind and caring environmentalists. One you can deal with is Dr. Patrick Moore who was one of the founders of Greenpeace and was a full time environmental activist. He broke ranks with Greenpeace after 15 years because in the mid 80’s the environmental movement had sensationalized things instead of using science and facts.

He is FOR Genetic Enhancement of food crops. He is FOR Salmon farming, one of the most nutritious fish. He is FOR Vinyl, yes that is Plastic. He is FOR Hydro, Wind and Nuclear power generation. He is FOR the use of forest, yes wood. Trees, the most renewable resource on earth.

I do not agree with everything his site has to say, but reasonable non agreements creates reasonable solutions.

I was sent something to remind all recievers of it as to what the Flag Code says.

United States Flag Code,  Title 36, chapter 10

It is a very interesting site of what to do when the US flag is present. I have to admit I needed to be refreshed on some stuff I had forgotten. It will settle many an argument or friendly discussion.

Especially interesting has been recent discussion,...Section 171..., and Section 176

 171: Conduct during playing

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

While surfing around all the items available about global change, here is a neat item. Something Al Gore needs to do instead of always running to the friendly areas of the mainstream media types. I know it makes him feel good but the camouflage  needs to come off so all can see the truth of it all.
Those on the political left seem to want to always debate. We have had what, around 20 Democrat presidential debates. And Hillary wants another. Well this challenge was issued awhile ago to former Vice President, former history professor Al Gore on the exacts of climate change. With things pertaining to this discussion having to do with so much pertaining to us, now is the time for Al Gore to bring it to the table. That which will have it's greater effect on the poor and middle class, that which he is far removed.
All that has been heard from VP Gore is,....crickets. Guess the roar of the G5 wasting fuel is too loud.
E-WIRE PRESS RELEASE E-WIRE PRESS RELEASE E-WIRE PRESS RELEASE

Al Gore Challenged to International TV Debate on Global Warming
PERTH, SCOTLAND, Mar. 19 -/E-Wire/-- In a formal invitation sent to former Vice-President Al Gore's Tennessee address and released to the public, Lord Monckton has thrown down the gauntlet to challenge Gore to what he terms "the Second Great Debate," an internationally televised, head-to-head, nation-unto-nation confrontation on the question, "That our effect on climate is not dangerous." (http://ff.org/centers/csspp...

Monckton a former policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher during her years as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said, "A careful study of the substantial corpus of peer-reviewed science reveals that Mr. Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, is a foofaraw of pseudo-science, exaggerations, and errors, now being peddled to innocent schoolchildren worldwide."

Monckton and Gore have once before clashed head to head on the science, politics, and religion of global warming in the usually-decorous pages of the London Sunday Telegraph last November.

Monckton calls on the former Vice President to "step up to the plate and defend his advocacy of policies that could do grave harm to the welfare of the world's poor. If Mr. Gore really believes global warming is the defining issue of our time, the greatest threat human civilization has ever faced, and then he should welcome the opportunity to raise the profile of the issue before a worldwide audience of billions by defining and defending his claims against a serious, science-based challenge".

The arena of the glittering "Second Great Debate" will be the elegant, Victorian-Gothic Library of the Oxford Museum of Natural History, which was the setting for the "Great Debate" between the natural scientist T. H. Huxley and Bishop "Soapy Sam" Wilberforce on the theory of evolution, following the publication of Darwin's Origin of Species. Lord Monckton says he chose this historic venue "not only because the magnificent, Gothic architecture will be a visually-stunning setting for the debate but also because I hope that in this lofty atmosphere the caution and scepticism of true science will once again prevail, this time over the shibboleths and nostrums of the false, new religion of climate alarmism."

Lord Monckton's resounding challenge to Al Gore reads as follows –

"The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley presents his compliments to Vice-President Albert Gore and by these presents challenges the said former Vice-President to a head-to-head, internationally-televised debate upon the question "That our effect on climate is not dangerous", to be held in the Library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History at a date of the Vice-President's choosing.

"Forasmuch as it is His Lordship who now flings down the gauntlet to the Vice-President, it shall be the Vice-President's prerogative and right to choose his weapons by specifying the form of the Great Debate. May the Truth win! Magna est veritas, et praevalet. God Bless America! God Save the Queen!"

Well, while sitting around here recovering from knee surgery I decided to get in on this thing. May be short time, who knows. I don't have one of them PH and D's in blogoscopy like some. Nor have I served an apprenticeship in the ABCW, Associated Blogoshpere Controllers of the World like others. It will probably be just plain old OJT.

TAXES, INCOME TAXES.

Had to pay this year. Not much just had to pay after all the money they took out of my check during the year. Even with all the 401K I put in. But I keep my refunds and pays close. The IRS is not a savings bank contrary to what some think.

Kids are grown and gone. Finally got the house paid for last year, we live in a moderate middle income house type. Now you get to pay to maintain, and always pay increasing property taxes. Still, it's too much to pay for middle income people.

Problem is if the Congress does not make the Bush tax cuts permanent or at least extend them most middle income tax payers tax bill will increase in a few years. Top that off with the promise that if either Democrat presidential candidate gets elected they have said they will increase government spending and increase your taxes. Capital gain taxes affects the middle class and retirees. In fact haven't heard this years Republican candidate definitely say they would cut taxes, or not raise them for that matter.

Well those that think they don't pay enough taxes have a golden opportunity to back a bill right down their alley. On April 10th the "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is Act" was submitted by Congressman John Campbell. Built into this bill, a line would be added to the form 1040 that would allow them to "contribute" as much tax as they would like over the amount that has been computed. Furthermore, they can make it known to direct the money to be spent rather than just pay down the deficit. Under this bill, all those people who want to see the Bush tax cuts repealed could easily pay that extra tax. Shouldn't they lead by their own example? Just put back all that tax deduction plus all the extra they have.

Yep, all those that agree with ever increasing wasteful tax and spend can contribute all the more taxes to show us they mean it and they can fund whatever Congress request to fund with their contribution. If fact Hillary Clinton was invited to be at the press conference to introduce the bill. Guess she was too busy.

Think it will happen? Well, I wouldn't hold your breathe, or wait for hell to freeze over.  Huckabee tried it in Arkansas. They got an extra $1100. $1000 from a rich citizen.

We all should not mind paying for things needed to operate a correctly run Constitutional government. This government is extremely wasteful. You want to pay more and more to a system that waste $0.45 of every dollar before it gets to where it goes be sure to make those contacts to make this bill happen. There was almost $100 billion of bipartisan earmark, pork barrel, bridge to nowhere spending the last two years. That needs to be prohibited with severe penalties if found out.

'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything you have.' ........ Thomas Jefferson
