Comments to The Advocate

It is really amusing to read some of the comments each morning in the paper. There are some individuals who continually email in or write letters to the paper who absolutely have no earthly idea how our government of checks and balances is set up to operate.  You read dozens of letters or messages that continually blame President Bush from the problem with the housing market to the extremely high cost of fuel.

I believe that the Legislative Branch has stalled any new drilling off our shores other than the Gulf and won't allow any exploration in ANWR where there is a known reserve.  Also, with previous administration appointees on all levels of Federal Courts, we have seen the results of their known liberal agenda where they have legislated opinions instead of carrying out their Constitutional duty of interpreting them.

It is obvious that before people write these uniformed opinions, they should at least get some basic knowledge on how our American system of Constitutional Democratic government actually should be carried out.

Have to stay up and atum Red. The anonymous posters are like cancer. They work 24 hours a day. How many people a day do you think actuallr read much less contribute to "THE FORUMS" Probably not more than 15/20  are regular contributors.

Imaginary situation

Imagine going to a meeting about school overcrowding in your community. Everybody at the meeting is wearing nametags. You approach a cluster of people where one man is loudly complaining about waste in school spending. "Get rid of the bureaucrats, and then you'll have money to expand the school," he says, shaking his finger at the surrounding faces. You notice his nametag — "anticrat424." Between his sentences, you interject, "Excuse me, who are you?" He gives you a narrowing look. "Taking names, huh? Going to sic the superintendent's police on me? Hah!" In any community in America, if Mr. anticrat424 refused to identify himself, he would be ignored and frozen out of the civic problem-solving process. But on the Internet, Mr. anticrat424 is continually elevated to the podium, where he can have his angriest thoughts amplified throughcyberspace as often as he wishes. He can call people the vilest names and that hate-mongering, too, will be amplified for all the world to see. This I believe  Roy Mark

How many of those writers would be writing if they had to sign their names to their biased comments? Why are they afraid or ashamed to let anyone  know who wrote their comments..
