I think Obama will win
With election day looming, I have come to the conclusion that Barack Hussein Obama will be elected. For the good of the country, I sincerely hope I am wrong about him. I hope he turns out to be a good president who will defend the Constitution and the liberties it guarantees. That is what I hope. However, I fear that he'll be just what I think he is -- a socialist who will try to remake the nation into something the Founding Fathers never envisioned; that he will, with the aid of a Democrat congress and a reconfigured Supreme Court with only a couple of new justices who share his views, trample on the First Amendment and bury the Second Amendment. His universal health care funded by tax dollars will mean that we will be like Canada and much of Europe in that we will end up waiting weeks or months for diagnostic tests like MRIs and perhaps waiting months for surgeries. I believe he will further open the borders and welcome with open arms anyone who decides to come regardless of U.S. law. I believe he will offer those who come here illegally the right to vote which will further ensure not only his re-election in four years, but after that the election of more people who believe as he does. I am glad that I'm 60 years old and probably won't live to see the complete destruction of what has been for more than two centuries the greatest nation ever created on the face of the earth. I have never been more glad that I don't have children who would have to contend with the changed nation. While I sincerely hope for the best, I sincerely fear the worst. 18 comments from 12 users

For the people, who actually believe that OBAMA will destroy this country ,need to stick to their day jobs!Fortune telling and reading of your tarot cards is a bunch of crap . PERIOD.Don't be so jealous because OBAMA is ahead. Just email your opinions to john mccain and tell him, that it was his choice for v. p.that ruined his second chance. stop being such haters!!!

Once again, southtexas, you are not comprehending what you are hearing or reading. Seems there is 1% of the housing loans in foreclosure. Now how did that bring about the current economic crisis we are all facing? I guess you don't know about or just choose to ignore the credit default swap legislation that was passed in 2000. Go read the bill. It is legalized gambling at its finest. Then I think you'll be able to figure out (if you can comprehend what you read) exactly what the major component was in this current economic situation. I don't even know why I am bothering with you. You accuse anyone on here who disagrees with you of not reading about or studying the issues, but you are the world's worst, bar none. I am going to copy and paste your statement about "I will make a prediction that within two years the Democrats will be backpeddling because even they will realize that our country cannot survive with Obama and his Marxist agenda. There are some of course who are just as bad as Obama, but I have faith in the common sense of the American people. Obama will be a one term president if he is not impeached. I kinda guess I'm assuming you will comprehend what I am saying right now. SmarteePantz, it is so hard to relinquish the title when there is so much to work with here!

Since he taught Constitutional Law................hmm. I think he (Obama) probably forgot more about the constitution than a whole load of right wing fascist know. Sooo I would say he will be a great defender of The Constitution. Grasping at straws, one at a time. Doom and Gloom. Fear, Queer, and Smear! Just stop the smear. Everything is going to be fine;unless the right wing starts with the witch hunt, like they did with William J Clinton. posted by

These poor, poor republicans. They are afraid of their own shadows. southtexas--when are you going to open your eyes to the truth? The mess that my children and my grandchildren will be digging out of is the cost of the BushWAR. Blame the financial crisis on the Democrats all you want. Continue to delude yourself about reality. Pat, you are absolutely right--this country has no where to go but up. posted by

Waywindward, Just because the Democrats will get a super-majority, that doesn't mean Obama or Pesio will get everything done. The Democratic party is not as ideologoical driven as the GOP. The party has many wings like 1) the conservative Blue Dogs, 2) the Deep South Dixecrats, 3) the more libertarian Freedom Democrats, (Which I align myself to). 4) the moderate DLC ( Clinton and the gang) 5) The classic liberals like Ted Kennedy 6) the Socialist wing like Kuninch and Maxine Waters. posted by

I don't think Obama will by himself be the ruin of this country. No, he'll have help from the democrat congress critters who will get in on his coattails and, if the wrong SCOTUS justice dies or retires, the Supreme Court. Grim...You're right. Most families did start out with immigrants. Mine did the Ellis Island thing -- you know, like they were supposed to -- and were welcomed to their new home. They already spoke English, but they embraced the new country and became citizens as soon as they could. They worked hard, voted, involved themselves in their communities, served in the military and each generation has had unbounded pride in being an American. The closest I could find to any of them being socialists were the ladies who gathered for quilting bees and the families in the communities who helped each other when illness or some other form of bad fortune struck. My dad's favorite saying was, "What are friends for if you can't use them once in a while?" I never found reference to any who looked to the government during bad times. I believe they would all think Barack Hussein Obama is a crook looking to separate the people from their money. posted by

Of course it's fair that some people have more money than others, they work harder for it. I don't make alot of money, but I know if I had the education and the employment to make loads of money, I could. I know that really isn't being nice to those who are less fortunate. I've been there though. How did i get to the point where I make a decent living. No one said others had to share with me. That wouldn't be fair to them. No, I worked hard, did my job better than anyone around me, and got promoted. My skills were noticed by a great man who appreciates hard work, and he offered me a better job. Now I'm here, and I make more than I have in the past. No one shared anything with me, I did it all myself.
All this said, it's not that I don't believe in the welfare system. I think we should help those who can't help themselves, and that's fine. Don't say you're going to "Share the Wealth." And as far as immigration goes, alot of people forget that almost everyone's family began with immigration into America, and that most illegal immigrants in the country are allowed to enter legally. They get a visa and just overstay their welcome. So who's at fault here? posted by

Grim, I think Obama wil winn an then we will loosen up imigretion and get mor latino vots. And in 2012 we will hav the first latino president. I wood lik to see this country share a little more. This country is the wealthiest country in the world and I do not think its fare that some have lots of money and some don't. I think every one should hav free healthcare and we should share more. I think that a man should not hav to work 40 hours a week to support his family. I think he should be able to stay at home if he chooses and not worry about how he's going to pay for food or health care. There is plenty of money to go around. We need to share posted by

You mean George W. didn't cause the Vietnam War. I really need to step back and rethink my life.
i think alot of people are going to feel really silly in 4 years when this country still exists. Now I'm not Pro-Obama, but does anyone really believe that the American people won't get rid of Obama if he does a poor job. posted by

I will make a prediction that within two years the Democrats will be backpeddling because even they will realize that our country cannot survive with Obama and his Marxist agenda. There are some of course who are just as bad as Obama, but I have faith in the common sense of the American people. Obama will be a one term president if he is not impeached. The problem is that he will do a lot of damage to America and the American people before he is kicked out. Our children and grandchildren will be digging theirselves out of his mess for decades to come. You and I will be dead and gone and people will still be talking about the "Obama Years" and how horrible they were. posted by
