NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH IS ALMOST A WRAP

And we're going to finish this bad boy on schedule too!

I had only just heard about NanoWrimo last year a few days before November 1st and decided to try it for fun. It was exhuasting and time consuming, but I finished it and was quite pleased.

This year, I once again stupidly took up the challenge. A 50,000 word novel in a month? Seriously?

So once again, this month, in the midst of comic book conventions, blogging and feature writing for busygamer.com, band practice, band performances, and that little thing called a day job, I would come home, often around midnight or later, and try to plug at least 2000 words a day.

There is no money involved. I will not get a writing deal out of this or instant fame. But I DO get to say... Yes, I wrote this in 30 days. It only took me 30 days to do what some people claim they are going to do one day but never do.

That speaks volumes.

Tonight, I broke 40,000 words (40280 actually) putting me at pace to finish this book up before midnight Nov 30. Although I still have a few thousand words to go, I can't wait to celebrate, pop the wine bottle open and toast to this feat.

I hope the other authors who took this challenge in Victoria are having just as much luck.

That is an excellent achievement. I signed up for this challenge as well. My attempt = NaNoMoWri FAIL!

I hope next year's attempt will be better. Maybe I can at least write a paragraph.
