The Goddess Of Navarro I saw this article in Sunday's paper.. It's definitely worth the read. I find it interesting how we define "art". I mean "art" is all well and good right? That is, until we don't agree with it. When someone told me there was a "naked lady" on Navarro... I thought it was another car wash stunt... but no, it was a statue. A statue that breaks no law, and depicts the female form... Oh well like the article says... Victoria is not Brussels or Paris. But does that...

The Inner Musician Where do you get all those songs? That's kind of a hard question to answer. It's sort of like telling a comedian to "be funny" on the spot. Some can do it, some can't. But there are ways that the songs come. It does take work on your part... 1. Listen, Listen, Listen. As a musician, I hear music all the time. I've done it since I was a child. It's also the reasoning behind last 101's "homework". There is a reason why music is such a big part of people's lives. What's...

The thing I love about blogs, is that they are not professional at all, there are no rules as to what you will and won’t say, prose and style can be left out the door. If you’re a guy like me who writes for other things and is constantly coming up with ideas, working them throwing them out the window, a handy little window to the world where I can just let words flow from my fingers without a second thought is so refreshing. So once again, let me break one of the greatest rules of...

Hollywood Needs A Good Run Saw that article listed above online today. It seems as though the Hollywood filmmakers are worried about the future of the cinema. Ticket sales and movie attendance were down last year despite Hollywood throwing infinite amounts of money at producing over the top movies. This is kind of sad especially when you consider the fact that movie prices are higher than ever. So why aren’t we going to the movies? Well Mr. Bigshot producer, sit right down and...

Every so often, I am approached in the real world, by young aspiring musicians or band guys just starting out… eager for rock and roll to take over their lives, for a little advice or help getting a gig or something to that effect. It just occurred to me that I have a vehicle of talking to as many people who care to read this, and free reign to talk about whatever I wish… So I have decided to take the time to make a series of articles about being in a band… mostly geared to...

It’s been such a hectic pace for me lately, I totally forgot to mention the passing of Lou Rawls On January 6th. Sad to say, Mr. Rawls passed away due to cancer at the age of 72. I find this interesting… Because as music evolves, sometimes greatness passes and will never be the same. You see, before we had what the modern American music industry considers “R&B” (music with no substance like “Black eyed peas- my humps” or “Rhianna- pon de replay”)...

I saw this story online today. Apparently this guy is trying to get his girlfriend back after she gave him an ultimatum to get rid of his Elvis memorabilia... Man Chooses Girlfriend Over Elvis Poor guy. If you want my opinion, he’s making a BIG mistake. I’ll give you an example… I have two really big obsessions in my life. One is music, the other is Star Wars. The music one is pretty valid. It keeps me creative, I can actually credit music to helping me con my wife...

The idea came up last night, that I should put a team together for the upcoming knowledge bowl for kicks to see how well we would do against the brains. A long shot? Sure, but it could be fun, plus it goes to a good cause. If I can find the 4th person for my dream team, you may see us there
