I was going through the playlists on my Ipod recently, when a thought struck me... I wonder what kind of impression a person would get from me if they were to find my beloved music companion and clicked through it. The playlists are usually labeled by mood or task… I have a few just called “Workout1” and “Workout 2” and so on for my morning gym visits. I have one called “Fight” which I like to have on when I hit the heavy bag, Another called...

The Missus and I bought our stepdaughter her first personal portable CD player this week, complete with her own little CD carrying case. I think I suppressed a small tear of joy as I watched her sit in the living room, with her little Spongebob Squarepants headphones, singing along to her favorite songs. I’m not sure what exact age I was when I received my first personal music device. It was a walkman tape player, I went through about one every six months as a child. This was because...

Strange behavior. Why is it when we see someone we know with an obvious haircut… we ask “Did you cut your hair?” Or how about if you were to break a bone and show up to your job with a cast, then people would ask “Did you get hurt?” Our powers of observation are stellar to say the least. I used to have a friend named Rob. He had these really boss sideburns when we were in high school. Every once and a while, some genius in a letter jacket would walk up to him and...

I was thinking about this the other day when I saw someone's MHS shirt... What exactly does Memorial High School memorialize? Anyone in particular? Any place, thing or historical event. Was the school board to quick to want to put a name on the place after consolidation? I don't think anyone has ever bothered to tell me, a simple tax paying citizen, I'm not sure if I ever saw it mentioned in newspapers or the local news... I refuse to think that we in Victoria don't have enough local...

My hair is starting to get a little shaggy. It sticks out on the sides a little, If I sleep a little late in the morning, I run the risk of having bad bedhead all day. It’s time for a haircut… I don’t like hairstyling salons or hairstylists. I prefer barbers… there is a big difference. Last week, my wife and I took our stepdaughter to a local “salon” for a little trim. Now we have a sassy looking 5 year old walking around the house, that’s OK… it...

Rest In Peace Grandpa Munster... You truly did know how to entertain a group of kids after school. I used to rush home to catch it.

They announced the nominees for the Academy Awards show a few days ago… Don’t really care for awards shows that much. The real winners never get any respect… It all comes down to the time when “Titanic” was up for so many awards… You guys remember “Titanic” don’t you? Sure you do… it was “Star Wars for girls”. Seems like you couldn’t go two feet without coming face to face with Leo fever then. Anyway… Titanic was...
