Since the invention of the printing press, civilization has relied on the free press. I’m not just talking about your regular daily newspapers and news programs. I’m talking about the REAL free press. The radicals, the revolutionaries, the ones that express ideas and opinions and make us think. They were around in revolutions when tyrants ruled with heavy hands, and they are around today when major news groups like the associated press and other mainstream news groups tell us what...

If you are around my age (old enough to know better, too young to care) you probably grew up watching one of the best serial cartoons of all time. Transformers! I was such a big fan as a kid, my very first kiddie fist fight was over some kid breaking my Megatron action figure in second grade. It wasn't quite like the episodes of the "Dukes Of Hazzard", but that's another story. Over the years, they kept trying to bring back the Transformers in different forms. They never quite got it...

I found this looking around online... The Difference Between Nerds, Dorks, and Geeks according to this,"nerds are people of above-average intelligence who place little importance on their appearance. Nerds are often aware of their status, but they don't mind. In fact, many take pride in the putdown, as it means they're smart and not wrapped up in superficial worries." Sweet.

If you keep up with the news any deeper than what is covered in "US Weekly" you probably heard that a group of major astronomers met recently and voted to kick Pluto out of the classical solar system. I don't know how to take that. I liked Pluto. It was small, and farthest away from the sun. Now... I have to get rid of all my solar system charts. I also guess my 3rd grade dream of traveling to the planet farthest from the sun in our galaxy is now reduced to Neptune.

Tom And Jerry Quit Smoking I found this article about smoking and cartoons, and I wonder if everyone is taking it too far. Once again, let me state that I DON’T smoke. But I have never seen the type of fire that comes from some people when it gets brought up… well enough of us local jokers, let’s see what’s happening across the ocean. The Brits want to cut out smoking from classic cartoons? Wha? How do you figure… I know that the people from the Truth.com ads...

You know that public service announcement ad you see when you pump gas? The one that shows the Texas law enforcement officer holding up a drivers license by the gas pumps that warns you if you don’t pay for gas, you can lose your license? How many times have you seen that poor cop’s face scratched out or a beard and mustache drawn on his face? This guy must be the most hated cop in the state, cause everywhere I go, his image is messed with. I can only imagine the pep talk they...

This all started with one of my coworkers, Bert. In my day job, I’m lucky to be surrounded with people I work with and get along with. All the way from my bosses to the people who work with me, I am able to find one connection or another which makes things more harmonious. So then there’s Bert. Kind of like me only a lot more reserved. But he like all the things that matter. He’s a comic book fan, prefers Star Wars to Star Trek, likes Kevin Smith movies. He’s a cool dude,...

Texas’ Tax Free Weekend just past. I did my best to avoid all the shopping centers. But to those who indulge… I have to ask, is it really worth it? I mean gas is what, about 2.89 a gallon? Is it worth it to sit in traffic, brave the stores, and test your patience all to save a measly 8 cents to the dollar? Let’s review… You can spend around a hundred bucks, (depending on who you are) and save around 8 bucks… in case you are keeping score… that’s...
