It always happens, just as I was getting comfortable writing the year "2006" on all my important documents... the year changes. I'm not sure what I'm expecting this year. Looking back on the blogs of the past year... there is plenty I did, but still plenty I have to do. The band, is doing good, we have some shows booked and confirmed as soon as January starts (In my line of musical business, if you take time off, people think you quit) The shark in me must keep swimming until we get...

My fellow blogger, Toni Anne, has called for a boycott of the Tejas eatery here in Victoria due to the poor customer service she recieved. (You can read about it in her blog... her name is located to your left.) Reading her story, it seems as though all the pride has gone out of a job well done. I don't go to Tejas, I haven't been there in over a year. When I did go, some things were always a little off... but when talking about "pride" of a restaraunt, it reminds me of a story: I...

James Brown passed away early this morning. This totally put a damper on my day. James Brown was an awesome musician. No matter what kind of bad mood I was in, I could always put on "Make It Funky" and be on my way to a rocking good time. He had the better hair than any other "R&B" performer out right now. He could sing and yell, and dance his way to America's heart. He was soul. He was a pioneer. And now, like the other greats that seem to be a dying breed... he has gone. So long...

"Twas a week before Christmas, and much to my suprise... A Czech band was next door before my very eyes. They Played Christmas songs, lovely and sweet. For my nice little neighbor who lived on my street." This just happened about an hour ago! I was all settled in to enjoy a nice evening of relaxing, when I could have sworn I heard a tuba toot. Yup... A tuba. Tooting. My wife and I looked out the window and were taken aback as a 16 piece brass band was camped out in my neighbor's lawn...

You know what I would have really liked for Christmas? I would have loved to have seen my 6 year old daughter sing in her school's Christmas program. I would have loved to have seen her among the others, all decked out in their little costumes with parent's camcorders whirring and digital cameras snapping away with disposables... I would have loved to see her go just a little off key at the best part of "Frosty The Snowman" or "Silent Night". But I didn't get to see her this year, and...

I was flipping through the channels the other day when I noticed something... There are no role models for Dads to look up to on primetime television. I mean think about it, almost every TV show that comes out that features a family unit potrays the father figure as a lazy, dimwitted person with a wife that is way too attractive for him, who is put in the plot for comedy relief. Don't believe me? Think about these shows... Married With Children, The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond,...

Looking around the blogs, I have noticed other bloggers posting their own stories and poems. I think I would like to share some fiction with you if that would be OK... Hope you like it, if not, it's only fiction Angry 3…2…1… Angry? I’m not angry. You just have to be careful. I’ve heard all sorts of stories about people who do this sort of thing, and accidentally let something slip. If you think this is angry, you should have seen me as a kid, there was definitely...
