I logged in tonight to find the modem on the fritz.. apparently the computer and the 2wire wireless modem got in a lover's spat and decided not to "talk" to each other. This resulted in me calling ATT tech support and getting a nice lady with a terrible accent trying to help me get them to talk to each other through a series of 20 digit key codes, password resets and other assorted goodies. The call took 1 hour 15 minutes, and my little cell phone is burning hot. After all this of...

Saw this article in the victoria advocate… Saggin' and Baggin' in Victoria I think it’s interesting that city councilman Jim Wyatt says this “just shows a lack of intelligence, lack of character and lack of self-respect for themselves and families”… I don’t know the exact scientific research he got that from, but I think the real issue is when he is quoted as saying, “It just bothers the heck out of me.” We should be careful, city council, on what...

Today I turn 31. But nobody tell my inner nerd, he still can't wait to get his comic books. Some things that I've accoplished in my life so far: Played in a band Flown a plane Met 8 out of 10 childhood heroes Got Hitched Some things I still need to accomplish: Visit Europe Grow a beard See a Whale Get a Star Wars Tattoo Some Things I thought would never happen in my lie time (but did) Captain America died I got married Went back to school The Hulk got shot...

Tommorow night, one of my really good friends and musical heroes, Mark Linskey, is coming back to Victoria. He sings in a Punk and roll band called the Hudson Falcons, but his new solo project "Mark Linskey and The Street Corner Matadores" is a more folksy Americana inspired sound. Listening to the new CD you can hear the inspirations from Springsteen to early Tom Waits. You guys are in luck, they are playing @ Fanelli's Friday night with some band called The Stout City Luchadores opening...

So many people are making terrible movies these days. I actually heard the Fantastic Four was a fantastic bore... But I havent seen it yet so I can't really tell you for sure. While I'm waiting for Transformers and The Simpsons to come out, I just can't wait to see something a little on the weird side... I guess this is where "Fido" comes in. A fifties era story where zombies are our servants? Sounds like a cooky "I Robot", but for some reason, it looks way more fun. Here's the trailer:...

They say Dads get short changed. People spend less money on Father's Day than Mother's Day. I can't argue with facts and numbers, maybe that's true for most of Americans. As the world gets more and more modern, men do too. There is something about the old school way my dad does things. I mean for instance, I mow the lawn, but he WORKS on the lawn. I tell him I don't have the patience for that stuff, and he says one day I'll grow up. Well I'm thiry now, I still hate the lawn, but I am...

Sorry if this sounds nerdy... I am a huge comic book fan. I'm pretty excited about an event that is happening with Marvel Comics right now, revolving around my childhood hero THE INCREDIBLE HULK. What's been going on in comic book land? Well here's the Reader's Digest version: The Hulk was deemed too powerful and unstable to hang around earth. Despite all the times he has saved the workd from alien invaders, super villains, and plots on mankind... He also has pretty big fits of anger...

Tonight from 8 to midnight, Sonic was giving away free root beer floats. While this is a rousing success for the customer, you must also sit through an insanely packed parking lot filled with near fender benders and bad drivers clamoring for an easy dessert you can make in your own home. Despite this I still went... twice.

Like most bloggers, I often feel the need to explain my absence and cover a few odds and ins... 1. We moved. Not out of the city, but to another venue so to speak. It's tiring, and a hassle, and reminded me way to much of my nomadic days. I am settled into my new office and totally look forward to doing creative work in a new space. 2. I finished my first semester of college after being gone 10 years. College is weird when your 30. I know that others have been older and done more, but...
