One hour to go, and I just decided to scramble my text so those busy little hacks in cyberspace can't steal my story. I sent it in, knowing in my heart I beat the 50k word minimum... and I did... final word count 57,535.
I did it for myself. Indeed, if you look at my profile, it is similar to the one here, no one friended me or added me this month on their NanoWriMo profiles, and true, I was not in it for friends. I was there to give myself a deadline, and follow through. It was weird,...

As National Novel Writing Month ends in a few days... I am already looking foward to the next writing event that will be held by the same organization that does NanoWrimo. That is the event known as "Script Frenzy".
Instead of writing a 50,000 word novel... It allows writers to write a 100 page play or screenplay script during the month of April. I'm pretty jazzed about this. Because I have written short stories and novels, but never a play or screenplay. I've written Comic book...
Junior High:
I'm walking downtown, and get pulled over by bicycle cops. YES... bicycle cops, I have a bottled water in my hand, and one takes it from me and sniffs it, says it could be Vodka, and proceeds to perform sobriety tests on me. The whole time, the Misfits song "Attitude" is playing in my head.
As the years go on, The Misfits play an important part in my development. I am in love with the songs, catchy sing a longs, rock and roll riffs, and imagery of cult movie...
Friendly reminder if you have five bucks and are interested... The Luchadores are having a benefit show to help raise money to get fans in Victoria in FREE to Bodogs BAtle Of The Bands... 5 bucks, 5 bands, the way it should be. If you have some extra scratch and like to see local boys make the best out of any situation, you could do worse than check it out.
I'll also be selling prints of this poster made by the best scene artist in Texas, John from johnlara.com (not biased, just a fact check...
Well, the Luchadores are starting our Goodwill Tour De Victoria this weekend. You can hear us Friday Morning on KVIC as we talk about Bodog Battle of the Bands and all the things that entails for us lately.
Then on Saturday morning afternoon we will be at the Fall Festival/ Job Fair downtown on main street from 11am to 3pm handing out info on how to get on our mailing lists plus fliers and raffles for BODOG tickets etc
Saturday Night is our benefit show at Fanellis with 4 other bands...
So I signed up for National Novel Writing Month. (November) Basically to take the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I started out just fine, but after all the Bodog hoopla, I fell short of my daily writing this past week. I barely picked up where I was this Saturday.
Now I am up to over 9,000 words, except that to be on task, I need about 21666 words by today. No matter, looking at the forums online, many people have makeup sessions on weekends and whatnot. So that is my...
I swear we didn't know that we would be getting as far as we did, but last night, as we awaited the names of the bands that would move on to the next phase in the Bodog Battle Of The Bands... "In No Particular Order" they called the names one by one. In a move reminiscent of reality TV, The Luchadores name got called last, talk about sweating bullets.
Now, we go onto the "Impress The Judges" part of the competition, where we will compete with the other finalists in Austin...
One of my favorite phrases is one I heard in a song... it says "Give me a chance to shine, and I will blind the world."
It's been a mantra I have told myself for years. Working hard, nose to the grindstone, as my father would say "Give them an honest 8 son."
So over the years, I HAVE worked hard. In my writings (blogs don't count, this is my version of rambling so you all have to put up with it), in my job, and in my music. Another qoute Carlos Santana once said "If...
It's a race to the finish Chupa fans, and I'm lovin' it!
The skeptics and the science community really want everyone to accept the recent tests that there is a possibility of the corpse being a coyote.
The Chupa-maniacs want to keep the drive for everything goat sucker alive, and as long as a possibility exists, they will believe.
And why not? Isn't a little bit fun, after hearing about the middle east, Fires, floods, arrested former sherrifs, school shootings... isn't it nice to just pull...
Back on October 12th, The Victoria Advocate did a feature on my band The Stout City Luchadores about us playing in Bodog’s Battle Of The Bands… If you didn’t get a chance, you can still read about it here…

Well, what started out as a longshot, and an excuse to publicize ourselves shamelessly has spread into a big surprise.
You see a couple of days ago, we got a call from a Bodog...
After rereading my snappy comebacks... I have decided to delete my last blog. It looked like it was on track to be a hot topic one day, all I came to do is play music and talk about comic books.
