Until this year, and more specifically yesterday at 0400hrs, I was completely oblivious to what I have now termed "Holiday Horror".

My husband and I decided that this year, we would actually get up early and go shopping on the biggest shopping day of the year! Even given, that I am not a big shopper, the savings and colorful ads got even me excited. So we get up at 0300hrs, roll out of bed at 0330hrs...and are finally out the door bundled up at about 0400hrs heading for Kohls.

Of course, when we got there we realized quickly, this would not be a normal shopping day. First clue...Parking.

After driving around for a few minutes dodging cars and shopping zombies, we finally find a place to park and are already questioning the decision to be there...but we decide, hey, we're here, might as well check it it out.

We get out of the car and feverishly shove the bundle of clothes wrapped around our toddler son into a stroller and race inside.

Once inside we see our second clue...ridiculously long line at the registers. This for me was about 15 people...so I think, well, lets grab a few baby clothes and get out of here. We round corner to the toddler clothes and grab up a few good sales. We decide to take one quick trip around the store to see what else is going on. Before getting halfway around the store, we met the end of what has now become...the checkout line.

Here's our third clue...shopping zombies. I used the term earlier. And what I mean by this are mindless and partially blind humans, generally in the form of females, who have one mission in mind. But instead of eating human flesh, their only mission is to shop.

They carelessly and with no apology (mindless, remember?) run around the store frantically running into people and even baby strollers along the way. Yes, even my baby stroller.

Alas, this was the final straw for me. We tossed the baby clothes and got out of there before we became part of a scene which too closely resembled one out of Resident Evil.

A quick breakfast at Denny's followed by easy shopping at the mall finished off our morning.

This breif encounter with Holiday Horror has tought me a lesson. I would rather pay $100 more for any item rather than face those insane zombies or stand in a line for an hour!

As of recent...well...ever since he climbed his throne...Steve Tyler has been making waves. And I'm not talking about those nice ones that you used to lay back and float on. I'm talking about the kind you get when you are chillin' lake side fishing and some jerk speeds by in thier fancy boat forcing wave after wave toward you making your fishing skills completely worthless...

And so it began...the Age of Tylerism.

First time I saw this man in person, I had no clue who he was and thought to myself...who the heck is THAT nerd???

But I have an open mind...I give people a chance. But even if I had been willing to give him chance, after chance, after chance.....and after chance, it wouldn't matter. This cop-hating man has failed to impress me time and time again.

He takes perfectly prosecutable cases and throws them out on a technicality and walks around with one finger pointed out and the other is dialing the Advocate. I'm still trying to figure out who is "servicing" who in that relationship.

Cops...are they perfect? Hell NO! Are they corrupt in victoria? No. They are just a bunch of human beings, like you and me, trying to do their jobs. Do they screw up sometimes? SURE.

Just like Tyler, I'm sure some of them even speed through town, with no seatbelt, no driver's license to show, and no proof of vehicle insurance in the glove box.

Hard as their job might be, what was once a good working relationship has turned into a dictatorship. Officers are forced to try to do thier job while completely aware that thier own DA would love nothing better than to put one of them behind bars....think he isn't trying?

And to make matters worse...you get the Victoria Advocate...they give him a public forum, a personal blog in thier delivered paper...again and again they publish biased articles.

Why? Because they KNOW the VPD's Chief is not going to lower himself to Tylerism. He is professional and courteous and is not going to use the paper to point fingers.

It's sad to see so many citizens being influenced by the paper and the news. In reality, they know nothing about these cases being glamourized but think they know enough from the reading the BIASED articles in the paper to form a conclusion about local law enforcement.

I know some of the officers at the police department, as well as many at the Sheriff's Office. They are not bad people and truely believe they are doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. I for one, think they are doing great. Is there room for improvement? sure, there always is.

I think we need to stop focusing on the bad. We are letting criminals out there believe that our system is so screwed up that they can commit crimes and get out on technicalities...with the current DA, this is probably true. However, we don't need to make such a big deal about it.

Ah...what a beautiful thing...

You ever been droning on in life, wondering if you've made the right choices...then all of a sudden BAM...you see a picture of an ex-boyfriend on the internet and you're like whoa....I am SO glad that was a hit and run!!!

Geez...time can really do some people in, ya know?

Well...another day, another dollar! I stay pretty busy when I'm not on my soapbox about something. Work full time...mom full time....I babysit too, yeah...been married for almost 2 years....

I'm kidding! I love my man :) Especially when I look back and see the freaks I coulda ended up with. But it's nice, ya know? Sometimes you find out that they're married...it's good to know there are women out there who will love them for the creeps they really are.

They changed the advocate site....again....they change stuff around here like I change underwear!

Anyways, I'm fine with the changes. Whatever, it works. I just want the news you know? And now, finally...a personal blog. Wow...I feel like a celebrity now. My own space in the advocate to post MY opinions...Geez, this must be what it feels like to be Steve Tyler!

Enough about that...so what is up with all the Pit Bull hating? Is there really nothing better to report on? People hate them, ya, tell us something we don't know! Did you know, that I hate...and I mean absolutely hate, with a passion....sushi. It's disgusting, it's fish wrapped up in fish and it smells....like fish. Can we do a story about that? I mean really...who eats that crap? It's raw...so it has the potential, to make you really sick. I think we should just outlaw it. Can we do a poll on that? Is that possible?

Hey guys, it's domestic violence month, okay? So lay off beatin' the old lady for a bit...at least until after the trick-or-treaters, ya know?

Kidding, kidding...I'm really glad they are getting out there in the open..singing and stuff. I think that's great...little confused on what else they do. But they have t-shirts and stuff, so they must do something else too, i guess. Someone will have to educate me.

Okay, I'm spent...lata
