Sexism and Child Support
After reading some posts from a few bloggers on April B's "Sexism" article I thought I'd blog about it... For some of you to come on a forum and whine about not getting enough child support from your exes is embarrassing... I've received support for 9 years as well and it's not exactly what I expected it to be but that's life and I learned to deal with it... To tell the public about your personal child support matters only makes you look bad...By doing this it shows your anger towards the other parent... Some of you on this forum are setting a bad example for the rest of us that do receive support and can deal with what we receive... Yes,I may have had to work a little longer but it only made me wiser and definitely much stronger... Besides,what does child support have anything to do with sexism??? 2 comments from 2 users

urfullofit, originally, I was not complaining about the AMOUNT of support I received... I was making a point about what an IDIOT my ex was... he's an idiot because he BELIEVES that just because I live in South Texas, where there is a predominate Latino/Hispanic/Mexican population, that he was discriminated against when the OAG raised his support. (An increase I never asked for nor wanted) I added that I am caucasian/white, he is caucasian/white, the OAG Rep was caucasian/white and the judge was caucasian/white.... see, and IDIOT ! He also BELIEVED that if the case had been heard in East Texas, where he lived, the judge would have THROWN out the case because apparently the judges in Wood/Liberty Counties are sick and tired of us women financially castrating men! That comment REEKED of sexism! My ex is a horrible biggot and frequently uses the "N" word and the "WB" word.... and is a HUGE homophobe.... I do believe the ex is a card-carrying member of the KKK, but can't prove it! What got me going on the support issue is two other posters making snide remarks about me being bitter and vindictive. And further going on to say that I should have given my child up for adoption --- the insinuation was made that women apparently get pregnant just so we can steal money from them via court-ordered child support.... SEXISM pure and simple.... many of those posts were deleted, including my own. posted by

Scorpio, that guy wasnt complaining about dead beat dads and wife beaters getting a break.. He was complaining that they SHOULD get a break. HUGE difference there.
