Okay, I checked out around 10 books a few days before the public library closed for 4 days so I'd have something to do while going through withdrawal symptoms. I was under the impression that it was closing to re-carpet the building. I've been out of town and doing other things (like reading those books) and only recently checked out the "new" library. (The books were due and I needed new ones.) I go to the library at least once a week. I have a system. I start with the paperbacks and make my way around the interior until I stop at the computers. This takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Not anymore, though. Some strange person with a worse sense of organizational planning than I have decided to MESS WITH MY SYSTEM!!! Now, I can't find anything. Well, I did find the paperbacks, but that was it. At one point I felt like screaming or at least ripping out large chunks of my hair. Before, the helpful staff could see almost anywhere in the place. Now, there are these "hiding" places where anything could happen. And even with the handy little maps kindly printed up (because they are absolutely necessary), I still found myself returning to the one area I could find -- the information desk. I spent at least 30 minutes just trying to find the different sections. At the end of an hour, I was highly frustrated and confused. I don't like change. I don't handle it well. I don't like it when people mess with my system without alerting me weeks in advance. I need time to adjust to change. I miss the "old" library. I miss my system.
I joined the social network site, Facebook, a while back. I have friends on both Facebook and MySpace. There's something about MySpace that makes me not want to join. I think it's because there's too much personal information on it. I realize that on Facebook a person can put just as much personal information, but the majority of people (at least on my page) don't seem to. I'd be curious to know your thoughts on these sites and social networking in general. Please post.
Is it just me, or does it sometimes feel like there's far too much information out there about a topic? It's almost like you can "google" a word and come back with thousands of hits in a matter of seconds. Like the word "gun". My goodness, but there seems to be a lot of talk about guns lately. Or type in "presidential election," and you are inundated with every little personal detail about every person who has ever run for the office. Personaly, I don't know why anyone would want to be president. Okay, that's my ramblings for the moment.
