I just added the video for a visual. en-us Aztlan101- Most college's will not ask you what HS you went to, not right off the bat.   THEY WILL ASK WHAT SELECT/TRAVEL TEAM YOU ARE ON.  Who is the coach?!?  Football is differ.   There is not much travel leagues.  FB does require power, size and hopefully speed.   This video is of interest.  It is ok if that is all you have.  It does not tell me stats, kid's size or personal awards.  Remember you are not the only parent w/ aa special athelete trying to go to school.  The coach will see or  be told of an athlete's skills.  You as a parent must prepare your athlete for the next  level.    The local school is not a recruiting service.   The athlete must have the skills to go to the next level.  As you know there is D1,2,3,  JrCollege levels.    All have their own requirements.    Remember too that D1 will pick their players early.   They are lookin at 2009  graduates already.  J/C pick last.  But rules change all the time. There are scholarships.  You can go red shirt or try walk on.   But they must see you.  All kids in emails, videos etc,  are 6'5", 240 and can throw the bomb or pitch 95 mph.  Yes parents add more that whats there. Athelete's must be seen.  Peroid.  Atheletes' must be graded against others at tryouts, camps.  They will look at thier skills, attitudes, desire, instincts, leaderships and then go to harder requirements.  Your grades.  Your core classes must have been meet.  Your paperwork to college is already done.  There is a few HS coaches who will give that call but he is not taking your ACT/SAT tests.  He is not strapping up that  athelete's shoes.   The my son is better than your son is very negative.  The athelete must be a team player, not cocky.   This next level is - is not HS dad's informing HS coaches who is good or not.   Change the wording and it will have a better effect.    Here  is some things to consider to go to the next level: (1) athelete's academics is not an issue, (2) They have fine tuned their great skills, (3) they are not seasonal players, (4) They travel to camps, showcases, evaluation workouts, they got exposed, (5) They know the game and love to play and (6) they (parents too)sacrificed a lot to get to practices, events.
