30 Days of Night...30 kinds of awesome! Go see it! Now! - Hollywoodland - BjLewis's Blog - Victoria Advocate

This is how vampires are supposed to be done. They aren't glorified, or sensualized. These vamps are dark, gritty and scary as can be. They tear through anything and everything just because.
Night descends upon Barrow, Alaska and lasts for 30 days. Plenty of time for the vamps to lay waste to this unsuspecting town. Blood is spilled, people die and the survivors try to last the month without getting killed.
It's a good story, well directed, well acted, full of more emotion than one would come to expect in a movie like this.
I was impressed with Hartnett, I didn't think he had the chops to carry this movie and he rose to the challenge like his character did in the film.
There is one corny corny moment to speak of that marred the overall film a bit. (You'll know it when you see it, trust me) but all in all I was very happy with it.
And you will be too.

Oct 20, 2007 at 09:10 AM : there are some cool...

there are some cool things I liked that werent nessecarily in the original graphic novel, for instance I love the way the vamps did not speak english. It made you wonder what the background story was on these brutal monsters. I also like how they weren't all lame and too gothy or "marvel- like"
