<title>Would you watch live online video of local newsmakers? - Crowdsourcing - GabeSemenza&apos;s Blog - Victoria Advocate</title>
        <link>http://community.victoriaadvocate.com/home/Blog/GabeSemenza/8928</link>
<description>Think of the possibilities: Live interviews of the day&#039;s local newsmakers and leaders. And here&#039;s the frosting on the cake: You could help interview these newsmakers from the comfort of your home or office chair.
If you haven&#039;t checked out our daily, 10 a.m. live streaming broadcast of the morning news budget meeting (click here to see the format), then you may be surprised to know the Advocate can broadcast live video online.
Visit our homepage each day at 10 a.m. and click the story titled, &amp;quot;Click here to help decide our front page.&amp;quot; You can share story ideas and help select the stories that make the next day&#039;s front page.
In addition to that, the format we use allows viewers to chat real-time with an Advocate editor. This way, you can listen in to our meetings and type the questions you want answered and the opinions you want shared.
It works in our daily news budget broadcast and it will work when we broadcast live interviews of local newsmakers.
We&#039;ve discussed interviewing and broadcasting&amp;nbsp;local political candidates, and inviting you to the chat. The possibilities are endless.
Who would you be interested in interviewing? How often would you want to partake in these live, streaming Q/As? When would you have time to tune in?
We&#039;re also working on a way to record the video and save it in a place online that you could view at your leisure. Until then, please offer your ideas about the people you&#039;d like to interview and the times in which you could help ask the questions.
Thanks for your help,
Gabe Semen&#039;s/Advocate public service editor
