Good, uncleaning fun - For your information - LeslieWilber's Blog - Victoria Advocate

So I started to clean house Friday night (gasp!). I didn't get very far, because I hate cleaning. Once I get sort of started, a dust bunny shaped even a little like Elvis can knock me completely off track.
Needless to say, I curled up beside the unfolded laundry on my sofa to read a book produced by the people behind this website. I swiped the book from a friend who was throwing away almost all the contents from his college apartment years ago. Then I forgot about it.
I'm not going to pretend that everything on TheSmokingGun.com is high-brow journalistic gold. Mostly, it's the public information equivalent of Coke and Fritos. For example, today's featured documents are goofy mugshots. Going through the archives, you'll find... unusual?... crime reports and documents from the Clemens debacle.
Oh, and Brittney docs, of course.
Could we all get along just fine without knowing some of this stuff? Uh, yes. I know I could. But the site does offer a great look at exactly what kind documents you could get if you wanted to, laughs and ,sometimes, valuable information.
Here's my standard pitch for the month: check out my Sunshine Week open records challenge. Folks, there's a free tee-shirt on the line.
