The cover of Golfweek shows a photo of a noose that illustrates a story concerning the suspension of Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman for her use of the work 'lynch' when making a reference to Tiger Woods. Tilghmann was suspended for two weeks by The Golf Channel over the comment which was actually considered a non issue by Woods, who is friends with Tilghmann. To me depicting a noose on your front cover to reference the story is just as bad if not worse than having made the comment on air. The noose was a bit tacky when perceived by some who associate it with hurt and selective historical references. On the other hand, one individual's anger will not retract the comment or necessarily change his attitude. Honestly speaking, it is difficult to guess or even try to make an educated guess as to what the speaker meant, if his intention was to harm, or if he was simply making a slight distasteful joke - I will not know nor do I care to know. The issues are deeper for the hearers who were not there with Tiger or Kelly. I will leave this quote ...
