The Victoria County Criminal District Attorney is to work WITH, NOT AGAINST law enforcement for the benefit of protecting the rights of her citizens. We perceive that in order for the wheels of justice to begin turning, Stephen B. Tyler must be removed from office. The Victoria DA can be removed by a petition of ONE.    Legal counsel has been obtained and we continue move forward. Tyler has selectively and deliberately refused to review and to act upon approximately 360 Victoria Sheriff Department's and Victoria Police Department's criminal cases. We, the Victoria 10, have accepted this responsibility to move forward with the petition for his removal. Prior to our decision to move forth, we had hoped that Steve Tyler would understand that all citizens and victims should be treated equally and that bullying law enforcement, and attemped intimidation of other citizens, has no place in Victoria County.   One should expect that the District Attorney of any given, Texas county, would know that as the Prosecutor for the State, it is not his decision as to conjure whom is "trial worthy" nor to  pick and chose what cases he wishes to prosecute. He is to present cases to the Grand Jury and to let them decide whether there is evidence sufficient to indict.    It has become quite transparent to us that our DA truly has issues that are rendering him enable to due the job he was voted in and sworn to do. Justice is at a standstill in Victoria County. The consequences of his actions has let many violent criminals back out onto the streets...and some, back into their homes where the damage was done and will continue, thanks to MR. TYLER. The almost 400 criminal cases sit in a growing pile at the Sheriff's Office and Victoria Police Department...police continue to do their jobs taking reports, detectives investigating the cases....and when the work is done the cases are added to the pile to collect dust rather than be reviewed... Who is suffering? The people of Victoria! The VICTIMS of crimes are suffering everyday. And the offenders are enjoying the freedom of no prosecution. What are we to do about the 300+ cases with the PD (I don't have a count of the SO cases yet) the DA has refused?  What about all those victims?  When will those victims ever get their day in court?  And it isn't up to the PD, the SO or the DPS to decide who is guilty.  It also is NOT up to the DA to decide who is guilty.  Last time I checked it was up to a jury of 12 peers to decide who is guilty (or not guilty) based on evidence presented at the time of a trial. You know, sometimes a District Attorney will win cases.  And sometimes a District Attorney will lose cases.  But a DA has to actually present cases in order to get either result.  And our current DA is NOT even accepting cases.  This is not about any one case.  Of course the Ratcliff case is not connected - because that man is actually getting his day in court.   That man is getting a trail.  That man has all the attention of the DA (especially since the DA is refusing cases - he has to be working on something)!  So NO, it's certainly NOT about the Ratcliff case.   Good on Ratcliff for having his day in court rather quickly I might add jumping over countless other cases.
