What are you doing on November 5th?

I think it will be safe to bet that you are not doing anything out of the ordinary. Most likely you will just be living another day in your free life.

How about this November 5th you do something to ensure that your life stays free and yours – and not completely ruled by our government.

I am all for everything our Constitution stands for, but it seems that these days, not everyone is for living by the laws that were established by our forefathers. Dr. Ron Paul’s mission is to bring back the freedom we think we have. That is why he is running for president in 2008.

In case you live under a rock, here is Dr. Ron Paul in a nutshell (courtesy of his website)

Congressman Ron Paul (Texas) is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the “one exception to the Gang of 535” on Capitol Hill.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

In recent debates, Dr. Paul has clearly defined that his main goals are to return our country to a true, small government, constitutional republic and to end the war in Iraq. His also believes in the Consistent Life Ethic.

If all of the aforementioned isn’t enough to make you at least raise an eyebrow, then maybe the fact that he raised more money than anyone has in a quarter will make you a little more curious about him.

He doesn’t take big payoffs from lobbyists and most of his donations are from people like you and me. So, the 5 million dollars that he raised last quarter is a bigger accomplishment than the millions the “other” contenders get from who knows where. Another fact recently published is that he has raised the MOST money from military personnel than ANY other GOP Candidate.

Back to my original question: What are you doing on November 5th?

I ask you to visit this website, http://thisnovember5th.com/, and take a look. If you want to make a difference and you really mean it, then you have to try and support it. The website is asking all Ron Paul supporters everywhere to join together on “November 5th for the largest one day political donation event in history.”

The goal is to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, creating a one day total of 10 million dollars. This should break any records out there, but most importantly it will give Ron Paul the monetary support he needs to win.

The Ron Paul Campaign just spent $430,000 on radio airtime for 4 states to introduce the people to Ron Paul. That paid for only two weeks. The Ron Paul in 2008 Campaign desperately needs money to fund things like commercials and radio airtime.

Personally, I can’t afford $100. I will be making a donation that won’t seriously damage my pocketbook, but nevertheless, it will be a donation towards something I deem absolutely worthy. The point is that every dollar you can donate does make a huge difference.

I urge you to visit the websites below and get yourself informed on what Ron Paul stands for. It doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat, a Republican, or one of the other parties out there, you will like what you read about him.

Until next time, dip into your Twizzler Fund, donate on November 5th, and vote for RON PAUL!
