Dallas Cowboys: 5 Reasons We'll Beat the Patriots - Dallas Cowboys: A fan's view - gsemenza's Blog - Victoria Advocate

While I'm a bit nervous going into Sunday's game against the Patriots -- to the point I'm already coming to terms with our potential first loss of the season -- we have enough talent to pull off an upset.
TOP 5 REASONS WE'LL BEAT THE PATRIOTS
1) We're playing in Big D.
2) Coming off an emotional win, the team's flying high and confident.
3) Our defense has allowed fewer points in each of its games this year. The fellas are learning to play in Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme.
4) T.O. has been shut down the last two games. He's due for a big one.
5) Tony Romo is a competitor. It's in his nature to come back big after having had his worst outing as a professional like he did on Monday.
TOP 5 REASONS WE'LL LOSE TO THE PATRIOTS
Since I can't offer a list here, given my allegiance to the Cowboys, I went to fellow reporter Bj Lewis, who is a Denver Broncos fan. Here is Bj's take on why the Boys will lose:
1) Bill Belichick
2) Tom Brady
3) Randy Moss. Bj said, "God is a Patriots fan."
4) Dallas is coming off an emotional win, and the team has a short week to prepare for the Patriots.
5) "Because the Cowboys suck," Bj said.

Oct 10, 2007 at 12:10 PM : Gabe, I agree with...

Gabe, I agree with your points.
As far as BJ:
1. Belichick isn't on the field.
2. I'll have to agree with Brady.
3. The hole in Texas Stadium's roof is so God can watch the game and root for the Cowboys.
4. Dallas may be coming off a short week, but the Pats have to travel.
5. Not. What is Denver's record?

As I have said to Gabe on many occasions, the Broncos are simply lulling the AFC and the rest of the NFL into a false sense of security so when we run the table and crush all comers in the Super Bowl it will be that much sweeter a victory.

Actually, the Rams and Saints are using the strategy in the NFC, too. At 0-5, no one is taking them seriously. Brilliant!

Oct 10, 2007 at 10:10 PM : Belichek may not be on...

Belichek may not be on the field, but his scheme is. I'm not sure if the Cowboys are a complete match to the Pats talent-wise, but I feel they are close. When the talent matches that closely, I belive coaching can make the difference. In that case, the nod goes to the Pats.
